The tweezers lose their grip if too much tension is applied. When they held, it did make threading much much easier. The thread cutter is a life saver, especially in tight places. Recommended item.

Came in a simple plastic bag. Exactly as pictured; good quality. Good value at $9 (at the time of this review).

I haven't tried it yet but they look like they will work. We'll see.

I recently began mending my own clothes again and I really needed a seam ripper. This one came with two other gadgets I wasn't interested in, but the price was right so I ordered it. I had no intention of using the monster-sized needle and weird tweezer-like things that are included. In fact, when I inherited my father-in-law's emergency mending kit, it included those two items and I threw them away. It wasn't until I got these that I realized how stupid I was for tossing the others. These are brilliant! The "needle" make is super easy to re-thread a hoodie drawstring. Why did no one teach me this? Shouldn't this have been used in Home Ec?! When we made drawstring pants, our teacher taught us to use a safety pin! My whole life I've fought with a safety pin when I lose a string - and as often as not, the safety pin won and I just pulled the string out and threw it away. Never again, my friend. The "tweezers" are still a bit of an enigma. I'm not sure I will use them often, but I did play with them, and the way they clip together holds fabrics very tight. So tight, I think some fabrics would tear before the tweezers would fail. When my boys were small, they had jeans that had an elastic in the waistband you could button at different intervals as they child grew. A few times I lost the elastic inside the waistband and had to dig it out. This would have been perfect in that situation, but those days are long past, so I'm not sure I'll have much use for this now. But I will keep it for those obscure situations. As for the seam ripper, and the entire reason for the purchase, it does what I needed it to do. I like the material the handle is made of. It looks like recycled plastic. I didn't see that in the description, so maybe it's not, but I hope it is. It's a little smaller than I remember other seam rippers. It sits in my hand well, though so I don't think it will be an issue. It's also flat instead of round, like my prior seam rippers. I haven't found it to make a difference in use and if anything it's a benefit because it won't roll off the table. It's very sharp and works as it should. If I have one complaint, it's the lid. It's shaped to fit the angle of the blade, so it only goes on in one direction. Not a big deal, but can be an annoyance.I noticed some reviews suggested there should be a bag to hold the items together, but the listing doesn't say it comes with one, so while it would be nice, I can't doc them for not having one. I absolutely suggest everyone should have one of these sets in their mending kit. You never know when you'll need it , but it will certainly make life easier when you do.

I like to put my own strings on my hoodies, typically Paracord. What I would usually do is tie the Paracord onto the existing string and then pull that string out. That usually works, but sometimes the knot is too big and won't fit in the hole so then I have to retie it, can be cumbersome. With this tool it makes things much easier. I can just clamp this down on the Paracord and work it through the hoodie with easy. Good quality tools, should last a long time.

There is not a whole lot to say about a seam ripper and drawstring threaders. They work as expected. The handle on the seam ripper is a nice size to grip.
