About this item

  • Compatible with micro-drive laser engraving machine, three-axis CNC engraving machine,.
  • 3D printer stepper motor driver CNC shield V4 needs to work with Nano board. It can be used as driver expansion board for engraving machines and 3D printers.t has in total 3 channel slots for A4988 stepper motor driver modules (not included) for driving 3 channel of stepper motors. Each channel of stepper motor only needs 2 IO ports, which means 6 IO ports is sufficient to manage 3 stepper motors.
  • Released the digital IO interface and the I2C interface, easy to connect to other modules, such as ENDSTOP, LCD I2C or other I2C module
  • Power: DC5V interface, 7.5-12V voltage input. Compatible with GRBL

These CNC shields work with the Arduino nano clone I used to build a CNC Plotter.

They must have porduced a boat load of these with the bad microstepping setup. It's easily fixed, and since they are cheap it's not to bad.The interesting thing is that if you use TMC2209's and are happy with x8 microstepping, then you don't need to modify them at all.

Board works fine with no jumpers on the microstepping pins, but why would you buy a knowingly defective board? Hard pass.

Good price point but the designers of this board made significant mistakes in the circuit design. Most notably the MS1, MS2, MS3 headers for the StepSticks do NOTHING. They have erroneously been wired to ground. The A4988 pins already have pull-down resistors for these lines. Without rewiring the back of these boards, you can ONLY select Full-step. Microstepping would require pulling some of these lines to 5V which isn't possible because of this mistake. If you are willing to cut traces and rewire the board, or you are fine with full-stepping, then this board will work out. Otherwise, you're in for frustration. Documentation for these boards is also pretty much non-existent.

I use these on my CNC Pin Cutter and will be building another CNC device so I'll have what I need and have a spare if something goes wrong. I've been using the first one I installed on my Pin cutter for about 6 months and so far so good. I'm looking at building a CNC router and plan to use one of the two remaining that I purchased to control it. I always like having a spare in the event that something goes wrong.

Have only used one of the three, but haven't had any issues so far. Not all of the capacitors are the same, but it doesn't seem to be hurting anything.
