These blankets work as well as other carbon-felt ones I've tried, and the 18" width is useful for some applications where 12" isn't quite enough. Thickness is generous.This fiber does deteriorate under the hottest part of a butane-air flame, but it stands up well to the outer part. Ordinary molten metal from soldering or brazing isn't an issue for it. I did notice after the direct-flame test that it smoked for a few seconds, but it doesn't keep burning on its own.Recommended!
