  • Gas is produced during the fermentation process of food. Gas can be discharged from the top of the lid, while external air will not enter inside. This ensures that the food will not spoil. Made of high-quality silicone, with a long service life.
  • Sauerkraut fermentation is a very interesting family experiment. The fermentation process of vegetables will produce probiotics. You can take your baby with you DIY.
  • Ferment your own sauerkraut, pickles, kimchi & more. Pickle Pipes can ferment any vegetable from cabbage to carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, garlic, radishes & more.

1 Clean your favorite vegetables, such as radishes or carrots, ginger and let them dry. Put it into a glass fermentation tank. The stems of chili peppers cannot be directly removed by hand, leaving the bottom on the chili peppers to prevent water from getting into the jar. As a result, pickled Chinese cabbage cannot be made.

It appears to be just as advertised. The day after receiving the pickle pipe I started some cranberry grape apple juice in a one half gallon jar using one of the lids. It is fermenting, producing bubbles and making wine as expected. It will be a couple more weeks to know for sure. The wide mouth lid fits a 1/2 gal jar perfectly.

These are very nice. The glass weight is heavy enough to hold the cabbage in the brine. I suggest you test the mason jar opening to be sure the weight slips in. I used half gallon mason jars to make a small batch of sauerkraut. One of the jars must have been slightly out of round, the weight would not go through the neck of the jar. I had to place the filled jars on an absorbent material during the fermentation process since some liquid was forced out of the fermentation lids.

The cabbage stomper and weights were everything I needed them to be, but the lids were super cheap plastic. Two of my lids were knocked off the counter and both shattered. The lids I was able to use did do their job, however. They vented perfectly and the gas nozzle is removable for easy cleaning. Overall, it’s a pretty good starter kit, and I am happy with it.

Looking at the product online, it looked like it would be a reasonably priced alternative for fermenting sauerkraut, pickles etc. What you can't tell from the photos is that the pickle pipes are silicon inserts in hard plastic lids, and that you have to insert the silicon rings into the lids before using. In addition, only 3 of the 8 pickle pipe inserts had the end perforated, so I did that with an xacto knife.I prewashed everything before assembling, and made up 8 quart jars of 3 different things. As the fermentation continued, I had to keep tightening the lids, which never seemed to seal properly, and a couple of the inserts popped out, letting air into the jar. When I was getting the jars into the fridge, I had to do a lot of careful clean up before putting the lids on. I ended up tossing a jar of Gardiniera because of mold on top of the glass weight and inside the ferment. There was mold under the seal and inside the silicon pipe on every jar except 1 jar of pickled onions. The proof will be in the tasting, but I am not at all happy with the performance of thus product, and will throw everything except the glass weights out. I know this is very wordy, but I hope it helps somebody. DON'T CHEAP OUT ON YOUR TOOLS!

Bought a bunch of cukes and started pickles right away. I like the colorful tops and they do their job. The weights are cool (the button in the middle is a handle for pulling the weight out). The weight stuck in the first half gallon ball jar I made and I broke the jar to get it out. But that's on the jars, not the weights. Next project: pickled beets.

I bought these to ferment. I used them for kimchi and sauerkraut and they work well and are easy to use

These lid are hard to fit on the average Mason Large Mouth Jars. To be honest, they are just to small for the size they claim to fit.

These lids do not fit a standard widemouth mason jar. Only one lid, out of the four, fit my jars.
