I purchased this 1.5L fermentation jar to make homemade kimchi and sauerkraut, and it works perfectly! The glass is thick and durable, and the water seal lid does a great job of keeping air out while allowing gases to escape, preventing mold and off-flavors.The size is just right—not too big, making it great for small-batch fermenting. The lid fits securely, and the water airlock system is simple to use and effective. I also love that it’s easy to clean, with a wide mouth that makes filling and scooping effortless. If you’re into fermenting pickles, kombucha, or even small wine batches, this is a fantastic option. Highly recommend for both beginners and experienced fermenters!

It's hard to tell the quality of glass from photos. Reviews of some jars talk of poor quality glass. This one has good glass, no flaws, no cracks, and the design is nice. You'd have to drop it or knock it pretty hard to break it. It's symmetric and looks good. The mouth is too small for my hand. I'm a man with very large hands. It came with a flimsy brush that is hardly usable, but a regular bottle brush works fine. It's fun to watch your pickles making little bubbles.

The jar is absolutely beautiful!! However, after using it to fermentation of veggies, I found it very hard to remove the vegetables. The opening is smaller than a regular mouth canning jar. Concept is great though. The vegetables stay under the liquid and gasses escape easily with the dome lid and water mote. Since the opening is smaller, it is harder to clean, but can be done. Not sure I will continue to use it for fermenting or rethink it for another purpose.

This is an attractive glass fermentation jar with a water seal. I keep one on the counter with fermented lemons. It easily contains about 12 to 14 medium/large lemons. The shape of the jar keeps the packed lemons from floating to the top while fermenting. If I need to put a weight on top, a regular-sized glass jar fermentation weight will fit through the opening.

This is absolutely not 169 ounces as ordered. It’s tiny. I’m not sure how I could put anything in it or remove the contents. 169 oz is approx 1.3 gallons. This is no where near.
