Clamp seem to be made of good quality metal and are very strong. Nothing flimsy about them.

Hopefully they will last for a few years, as little as I plan on using them- just disappointed to have paint flaking off as I took them out of the box.

Excessive play in threads, shaft moves sideways.Definitely not useable for clamping heavy steel items together as clamps are designed to do.

These clamps do a fine job. I actually used these to glue wood together for a project on the lathe. My only issue with them was the shaft can be a little loose and squirrely, but I have to solely chock that up to "you get what you pay for." That said, once you get it settled and tight they hold well. I was pretty happy with my purchase.

It's made of pot metal, and can't take much abuse. You're FAR better off with the "husky" brand from Home Depot.
