Not much simpler than this! I feel silly writing a review but since I am writing them for a few other items, why not? I am using this drill holes for planting at my berry and fruit orchard. It works just fine for this and I like the longer reach so that I do not have to bend or stoop as much as with the shorter plating drills. So far, I have planted about 80 berry bushes with this drill and it has saved me many hours and a lot of back stress (having recently had two back surgeries, I am only now starting to using augers for planting and wish I had shifted methods years ago.)

Attached this to my 1/2" DeWalt 20v hammer drill. I have soil that is fine the first 6" or so then clay and rock. This worked amazing. If the clay soil caused the drill to stop, let go of the trigger, pull it back up and then press the trigger again. If it was too rocky, it did get bounced around the hole. It was nice to use but with my soil, I ended up using the post hole digger more. This was nice to get the ground broken up but wasn't like the go to all the time. I would recommend this but the biggest decision is which drill to add it to.

I purchased this Auger to allow me to install 4X4 posts. I would have liked one that was 36", but this one at 25" worked just fine. When I got to 25" I just placed the drill I was using into the hole with the auger. I got about 4 more inches and this allowed the 8 foot post to be firmly placed in the hole without wobbling. My soil is mostly sand, with some clay and it was easy to use the auger with no stain on my 18 amp electric battery powered dril.I would recommend this to anyone that only does post holes occasionally, with no regrets. If you are going to place more thatn one or two at a time I would suggest a higher-powered drill.

I didn't get this for planting but it sure would do a great job! I got this to install 4" posts for my pergola and Sun Shade/Sail. Worked really good for what I needed!

The space was tight between the tree and the fence but this auger made the job a lot easier.

So I have a heavy duty brushless torque wrench ready to go and I have a Craftsman 1/2-in to 3/8 in hex conversion CMMT 15848. The 3/8 portion should marry up to the 3/8 orange pole digger screw. It absolutely does not it just spins This is not a 3/8 tip it's more like a 5/16.

Great piece of kit for the garden. We used it for planting 750 garden grass plugs.
