Totally AUG-SOME!!!First day: much sturdier than expected. Starts up easily. The grey air filter cover has a big on/off switch that’s easy to overlook. The gearbox has no grease in it! Find the grease zerk & fill gearbox with high-temp grease from a grease gun. Use that 2-cycle premix fuel for simplicity. Fuel up, depress the fuel bulb 10x, turn grey switch to ‘on’, lay it on side & pull the starter cord. The right hand control grip has all the controls & the ‘trigger’ is the gas pedal. Excellent machine & great value.

Was really expecting some sub quality item , it was well beyond an imitation tool , its must be the same as Box Store Rentals , $90 for 1 day , cheaper just to buy , it goes slow enough you dont have to be a scared , i was also in a hard pack rocky terrain, i was timid at first , then i was operating like a pro , I’m sure this will be a much used tool in the summer , buy the can on premix and drain fuel or run it dry before storing , gave it several tries to start up in the beginning , was about to think i got a lemon , till i saw the on/off switch , after that episode , yea starts on first pull, i really recommend this auger .

I was actually completely surprised that this machine worked, and not only worked but worked very well! I was honestly expecting it to break the first day and I'd get a refund and then have to put that towards a more expensive brand... but I was wrong. This digger is a powerhouse! I had to hold it for all I was worth and it would dig right down to the motor, and then I'd add the extension and dig it down again.I was digging a bunch of holes 3' deep in hard clay soil to add an alley to my cattle corral. This became my workout regime last spring and it's the most incredible workout I've ever done! I'd dig 7 holes with it and by the end I'd be completely worn out, I'd recover for a week and then do 7 more.If you only have a few holes in good soil, I'd recommend this digger, but if you have a lot to do, I'd look into something different. I ended up buying an earthquake dually so that someone can help me stabilize it better so it doesn't kick my rear so bad.A 3 point digger on the tractor is 1.5 million times easier than this digger, but I couldn't get my tractor into the corral, so this digger got those holes dug. If you're looking for a great digger that'll give you the workout of your life, look no further than this post hole digger!

If you’re looking to lose an easy $200 this product is for you. I purchased this item in early 2023, stored it for a few months inside, and then used it appropriately 5 times this summer and fall to plant some trees. On the fourth use I dug approximately 5 or 10 holes to plant some small 2 quart holly trees. I noticed the machine start to jerk, sputter, and spin more than usual. I went out the next day to plant some more trees and the machine started spinning uncontrollably the minute it was started up, regardless of the position of the choke lever or hand throttle. I cut the machine off, inspected it, adjusted the throttle down and tried again several times to no avail. The machine now spins out of control upon being started up, to the point that it’s a safety hazard to use. I messaged the manufacturer via Amazon and was told, despite it being less than a year old, I had had it too long for them to help in any capacity. I’ve messaged them for the last week asking for just a new motor, or a partial refund, or really anything with zero response since they said they weren’t going to help. Now I’m posed with the choice of eating $200, buying a new auger from a reputable company, or taking this hunk of junk to have it worked on by my local small engine repair shop and dumping more money into this busted machine after approximately 5 uses and approximately 30 holes it’s dug. Please save yourself the trouble and money and take your business elsewhere.

has good power, enough to yank it out of your hands if not careful when you hit a big root. I think the throttle needs a stronger spring because when it jerks in your hand you tend to squeeze the throttle thus making it go faster , dig harder and make things potentially dangerous . It all seem to be well built . It starts very easily .Pretty good idea I think to lay it on its side on the ground to start it cause the starter rope has a lot of kick . Definately do not have your hand on the throttle when starting .It has a centrifugal clutch for the auger attachment , so as the rpms go up it starts to turn . As with so much stuff straight from China the directions are woefully lacking . No assembly instruction at all . I also did not see any operation instructions .Luckily it is all pretty standard for small engines . I saw others say in ratings the same things .The gear box has a pretty standard hole with a plug on the side which I think is probably for filling it with gear oil and checking the level . I think the following would be great things to have that are absent : A manufacturers name , model number, oil to gas to ratio called for ,assembly instructions [ put the handle with the throttle and kill switch built in on the right when the muffler is facing away from you if you are right handed } .starting instructions , identify the gearbox fill hole and type of oil required ...all that actually on the machine .And also some directions written by an actual English speaking technical person . And what about a way to contact customer service or the vender ? And what about a warranty ? Does not seem to me like that would raise the cost of the machine that much . And yet it seems overall like a pretty decent auger for the price if you are able to deal with the shortcomings I have mentioned The test will be how well the gear box holds up probably . I have had a couple of Harbor Freight augers in the past similar to this one and they both had the gear boxes fail after a couple of dozen fence posts
