This isn't bad, but the one down side is that the hook threads in to the tip of the pipe. It's fairly sturdy once put in fully, but I used some blue thread locker on the hook to ensure that it won't twist out just from the weight of a snake. Otherwise the hook is nice and light, and the rubber handgrip is fine. The hook is good quality. No major complaints.

Title says it all. This is cheap and flimsy for any kind of real reptile handling: the length of it is so lightweight that ANY amount of heft from the animal will bend it, quickly, and the hook itself (the part that is meant to safely cradle and hold the animal) screws into the shaft. That means that if the animal is resistant to being handled, it can easily (read: INSTANTLY) begin unscrewing and loosening the hook, creating a hazard for the animal and for the human handler. This product is a joke. This is fine for people who are afraid of snakes and want to remove a harmless garter snake or similar from their yard--- but anything more than that, GO ELSEWHERE, this tool is a hazard.
