It came packaged this way. I don’t understand how they expected anyone to use this. It’s also a light blue in color which isn’t what I expected. It’s suppose to be all aluminum which it isn’t.

The tongs appear to be quite sturdy and have a great reach. Just be aware that if you're a smaller guy like me that it is extremely difficult to operate one handed due to how heavy it is. The film covering the tongs make it look like the tongs were fished out of the trash when first opening it. It peels off but not cleanly, so you will be spending quite some time removing all bits of the film. The aluminum underneath is at least pristine.

They do as they're supposed to do. Makes grabbing that iffy snake much easier and unlike a snake hook, this holds the snake in place. I have a very feisty Biak tree python who doesn't like to be messed with and will bite me every time I pick her up. Now I don't have to worry about that anymore. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it is all metal. The "teeth" that grip the snake don't have any protective surface on them. I'd feel better if they had a rubber type of coating on them. I want to keep myself safe but I don't want to hurt the snake. You just gotta make sure you don't squeeze that handle too tightly so you don't cause harm to the snake.
