Only needed one, but comes in a pack of 4 for the price of 1 and when you end up trying them all out, you will quickly realize why. Really only end up with one usable thimble, maybe two if your lucky, but who uses two in a sewing job anyways right? Okay, so these seem to be made from a cast, and there was black soot style residue on the inside of two of the little thimbles and it was really rough edged metal, barely leaving room for my thumb. The third little thimble was way too smooth on the outside and would not allow for the needle to be placed into a dimple to allow me to sew through two pieces of thin polyester material. Alas.... The fourth little thimble.... It was the perfect one. Smooth inside, deep dimples, it allowed me to hem my work pants as needed with no issue.I want to add that I have medium sized fingers and the thimble fits, but could be an issue for larger digits.Comes packed in a transparent resealable bag.

There is nothing not to like about these 4 colors Metal Thimbles for hand Sewing. They are absolutely great! Very strong, nice quality and excellent thimbles. I totally recommend them!

The last thimble I bought was more than 50 years ago and it was perfect. Alas, when doing a recent mending job, I just couldn't find it. I only needed one, but Amazon wouldn't let me buy a single thimble. I had to buy multiples. These were the least expensive. There is nothing wrong with them, but the finish is not as fine as my old lost thimble. My poor fingers suffered from the sewing I did without a thimble and now I've completed the repair with these new thimbles. They worked fine and my fingers now have a chance to recover. I have to wonder why people need 4 thimbles, but otherwise, I have nothing to complain about.I gave these 4 stars because there is a seam where it seems a sheet of metal was bent in a rod and joined. However it is smooth inside and the outside is nubby as thimbles should be, but you can see the seam. You won't see it unless you examine them carefully and I don't think it will cause any sewing problems.

The two bronze ones were very rough inside, so did not end up being usable. They were too scratchy on the skin. The other two were fine. Size is good.
