Walking to the mailbox and then getting my tools took longer than the installation. With my 2023 Outback I found the two screws were the size of the nut driver on the large side of my HD multi-screwdriver.Watch the video they have on the installation before you attempt it so you have an idea of what needs to be done. It is as simple as the video and instructions outline. I moved the sun visors off to the side so they would be out of the way first, remove the two screws, lightly pull down and back to remove the console. I just let it hang on the harness for the lights, but you could easily disconnect it. Unplug the designated connector, plug the Eliminator in then connect the one you took out into the other end of the Eliminator. Tuck it away, gently slide the console back on, and put the two screws back in.It remembers the state you left it in in case you want it enabled if you have to take the car in for serviceI did test it out before re-assembling, just to make sure it was all good. Started the car and turned the auto-start off. Turned the car off. Started the car and found it was still off, so I enabled it, and then turned off the car. Started it back up and found the auto-start was still enabled. Did it again with it disabled and stayed that way when restarted the car.

This is just what I wanted. When you start your car the auto on/off with be disabled by default. If you want to use it you can turn it on. I live outside of the city so this feature is unneeded but I do use it going through the drive thro so it’s nice to still have it available. Install is very basic and takes less then 15 mins. Go slow as you don’t want to break any clips but most users with basic tools should have no issues installing

This product works as advertised and the installation video that goes with it is accurate. Note: when you remove the Outback camera cover be careful using pry tools. I used plastic panel removal tools and still ended up damaging the edges of the cover along it's edges. It's painted plastic and is very thin along the edges.

Easy to install. Watch the video a couple of times and you should have no problems. Buy the 8mm tool and the trim tools. These tools make the job easy. Thank you for the product. It works better than expected so far.

Installation was not difficult except for the force necessary to unmount the overhead unit. I'm strong and have good short fingernails. U may need a wide flathead screwdriver. The cable to access is the single two right.Also it will help to remove the sunglass compartment.

Easy to install. Works as stated. A must have for owners that do not want the stop start feature.

Subaru put a forced crap and dangerous "auto stop" feature on their vehicles. This solved the problem and lowered my blood pressure..

Worked on my 2022 Outback. Very pleased to turn the start/stop off for good.
