These work on all my Canon cameras. For the record, I have the following cameras...5D mkIV90D80DSL2I would be sure that these will work on any Canon DSLR, and probably their mirrorless cameras too. I don't have a film camera, so I don't know if they will work on the older FD mount cameras. I got these because Canon has a less common form factor than other cameras, in that the back of the cover has to be tapered to fit all the way into the shoe. Ones that are strait all the way across will not work unless you cut them down. See the photos.NOTE - If you have a camera that is weather sealed in any way, it is a good idea to put one of these on your hotshoe. This is because the #1 way water finds its way into your camera is through the hotshoe, with the battery door being a very close second. This of course doesn't take into account people that are not using sealed lenses or that foolishly try to change lenses, batteries, or memory cards in the rain! This is not a guarantee that water will not get into the hotshoe, but it will improve your odds of keeping it out. If your camera is not sealed, then this really does nothing for you other than cover the plate.

These have the correct, unique configuration to fit in Canon hot shoes and still permit the on-camera flash to pop up. (This is important if you use the on-camera pop-up flash to trigger your external flashes or use it for occasional fill light... and do not want to have to remove -- and keep track of -- the tiny hot shoe cover.) These are not as perfect a fit as the Richard Franiec hot shoe covers I got 10 years ago for each of my Canons. (He machined each from a block of plastic. They were expensive, about $10 each, as I recall.) But these will do the job in my 7D-II, 7D, and 50D. Of the four covers I received, two snap into place okay, but the other two do not. They are loose enough they could get knocked out easily. See the photo with arrows pointing to the numbers. I noticed the two that snap in have number "2" and the two that don't a number "1". I assume those numbers relate to the injection-mold cavity they were made in. I'll see if I can exchange the two loose number 1s for two that snap in and stay put. If I can't, I'll modify them so they will stay in place. (I just tested applying a piece of Gorilla duct tape across the entire back half of the underside, and that additional thickness seems to provide enough friction to keep the piece in place. I'll try to include a photo in the next day or two.) If you've got a Canon with a hot shoe, these are the ones to get as they don't press the tiny button that tells your camera you've got something in the hot shoe. (Which you do, but you'd like the camera to ignore these and pretend you don't.) I knocked off a star because I've gotta modify two out of four of them to get them to work right. Overall, I'd say: good product at a good price.

These simple little plastic covers are a no brainer. They protect your hot shot from impact or snags that can seriously damage the shoe making it impossible to attach your flash and cost you a lot of money to repair. I recommend buy a pack or two and keeping some in all your camera bags.

When I bought this, I wasn't sure what was different about a hot shoe cover "designed for Canon" vs a generic one. Turns out there is a difference. This Canon one is a perfect fit not only in the hot shoe but also to the way the hot shoe sits on the top of the camera. If you want to keep grit and moisture off of your Canon camera's hot shoe, this is a great solution.
