I discovered the hard way that failing to keep one of these in your camera and then exposing it to rain can have some unpleasant consquences. The camera kept telling me that it did not support the device I was attempting to attach to it. That was being caused by some shorting twixt some of the many connectors in the Sony multipurpose shoe on my a68 camera. The solution required a lot of careful cleaning and drying. The PREVENTION, that I should have had applied, would have been to keep one of these in the camera whenever I don't have a flash or other device in the hot shoe mount.And a good value. This pack of 4 cost almost the same as one from Sony. These work perfectly. I'd buy them again if I needed to.

I only needed one, but ended up putting the rest onto other cameras. They fit well and keep the hotshoe protected.

So i lose these a lot when i'm typically ripping and running on set, so it's nice to have back ups because i don't like my cameras without one of these on it.

I'm happy I bought these. I have four Sony cameras in a recording studio and I never use the hot shoes on any of them, and I did not like the open hot shoe port. These are little pieces of plastic not worth more than Rs 10 each, but since they are one-of-a-kind, very rare, and certainly not available in any store, I paid the going price and I'm happy with the result. Perfect fit for the default hot shoe on Sony cameras.
