These actually work except that you need to push in while rotating it because the handles fall off easily. I thought they wouldn't really be useful but I'm delighted that they are. I rolled up about 150 feet of lights and it was easy. I had the lights on my deck railing and laid them down on the deck when I was ready to roll them up. It was easy as could be except for the handles falling off and me having to put them back on and press to the inside while reeling the lights in.

I wish so much I had known about this product years and years ago. All the tangled lights that I have dealt with in the past has finally ended. This is an outstanding find from Amazon. All the lights are wrapped and put up neatly.

I hesitated buying these at first because I didn't think that they would be sturdy enough, and I didn't think that I really needed that many. So, hesitantly, I bought them, and I am so very happy that I did. I will use at least 4, maybe 5 of them to individually wind up my new LED Christmas lights, and the rest are already upstairs in my sewing room to wrap quilt binding to make it easier to apply to my quilts (so much easierthan the rats' nest of carefully cut, folded, and pressed binding piled on the floor near the ironing board). I'm not sure that I need the somewhat "serrated" edge, but duct tape or card board will solve that potential problem. Very happy with my purchase, and with my sturdy cord winders. (And way cheaper than alternatives.)

I should have have checked the measurements of these. I won't be able to use them for my outdoor lights as these are quite small and outdoor lights at too long and to big to fit but I will keep them and just order longer ones next season.
