While dishwasher safe, I do recommend hand washing. Quality is good especially for the price. It works great for making sure you get the best bread.

This pan has all the hallmarks of a good baguette pan, and the couche that comes with it is a nice addition, too. However I noticed there's a coating over the steel to make the surface non-stick, and I was under the impression it was just a steel pan. I'm VERY selective in what kind of nonstick pans I will use and that unfortunately means I won't be using this for food preparation. This is an oversight on my part, but there is also no mention of what sort of nonstick is used.

I ordered this Spmarkt Silver French Baguette Bread Pan, 4 Slot Baguette Pan Kit, Sourdough Baguette Maker Molds set of baguette pans because I’ve gotten really into baking bread in the past year, and I wanted to experiment with baking French style baguettes.I think this is a great starter set for making baguettes. I’m fairly experienced with baking, and I’ve worked a lot with bread this past year, but I’m new to making baguettes. There are all kinds of recipes out there, and some of them are contradictory. Armed with this baguette pan kit and a beginner’s recipe, I turned out some pretty decent baguettes the first time I tried.The pans were smaller than I expected, but they worked just fine. The non stick surface worked well, and the perforated pans gave my bread a crispy crust and soft inside. They tasted incredible still warm from the oven with some butter.The kit also comes with a proofing cloth and a lame for scoring your loaves before they bake. Usually with baguettes you would use a couche, a 100% flax linen cloth that separates the loaves. The pan does that job here; the proofing cloth is large enough to lay over the loaves (or the bowl where the dough is rising) but is not large enough to use like a couche under and between the loaves. The proofing cloth is still nice to have, though.The lame was nicely sharp and scored the dough without tugging or pulling. I’m using it when I make my daily bread now, it’s simple to use and sharper than the knife I was using.The pans clean up easily, the sales page says they are dishwasher safe, but I’ve been hand washing them because they don’t easily fit into my dishwasher. They wash up quickly and I let them dry on the countertop.This is a nice starter set for learning about baguettes. I had heard so many tales of how difficult they were to bake that I was nervous; this set and a simplified recipe made it easy. After a few more goes with this recipe, I’m planning to try a harder one. My family loves the crispy baguettes, and they’re fun to bake. This kit would be a great present for friends or family who bake, or a nice housewarming gift. In some cultures, they give wine, bread, and salt for housewarming; this bread baking kit could be a cute spin on the tradition.
