I've repurposed these connectors to separate 3-wire pre-hung Christmas lights. I've attached my roofline Christmas lights to PVC pipe, but the lines don't start and end at the length of the poles making maneuvering them up and down off my roof a challenge. This year I separated the poles by cutting the lines and splicing this connectors in, then covering them with white electrical tape to hide the black against my eves. The connectors are solid, tight, and click together positively. They are also easy to disconnect, so after placing my lights I can easily get on the ladder and connect/disconnect the poles. An affordable solution to a problem, I wouldn't see any reason they wouldn't work well under a car or inside an engine well. They withstood the elements exposed on my roof through the Christmas season and came apart when I needed to take them down and store for next year.

Using these for a windshield wiper on my SxS, they seem to have a good lock up and as long as you use shrink tube they seem to be watertight

Be prepared for the connecting pins to come loose. Often the mating of the connectors will push a connector out rather than mate together. My application was on an older snowplow for home use so I deal with it. I would not recommend for critical applications
