Neither clip is very strong. The "paper" end will barely hold two sheets of letter size paper, which may be just as well because the "monitor" end will barely hold its own weight. Add a sheet of paper and it's all over. To be remotely functional the arm would need to be at least twice as long as it is.

I'm finding uses for them all over the place.The main use for them, of course, is holding documents next to your monitor so you can look back and forth quickly.Well there is a pad inside of the clamp that clamps to your monitor, it's not where you need it to be. I don't really get it. I just took a paper towel and folded it up and stuck it between the clamp and the monitor for padding. Worked fine.It has a lot of joints so you can bend it however you want it. There's not a lot of limitations and how you can bend it and place your document.Handy in a good deal for a five pack.

I was looking for something to use when I have my convertible desk top in the standing position. This easily grips around the frame of my flat screen monitor better than I expected it too and without any adhesive makes it easy to remove if needed. Adjustable to many positions so that it should fit most needs. The quick action on the document clip makes it easy to change out to the next page. Due to a window behind my monitor, I use a heavy cover stock sheet as a backer so that the light doesn't come thru the page. With 5 in a pack there is enough to share around the office, use at the home office, and keep for back ups.
