If you have large, unmanageable rocks that need to be moved, these are perfect for making big rocks into little rocks. I had a few chunks of granite in the backyard that I couldn't move even with a dig bar prying underneath. With these, you just drill five shallow holes in a line, put these in and start tapping them in order until they tighten up, and after a short bit the rock will crack in an amazingly straight line. It really was the perfect tool for this task.

I love these! I've split thousands of granite rocks and plan to spit thousands more.

Arrived quickly, solid steel, irregularly machined. Belt sanded the mating surfaces to smooth. Oiled and took to the job.

The O rings did not last long, as they broke in two from the pounding from the sledge hammer.

Used these to split volcanic rocks between 200-300lbs to clear a path for sprinkler lines and to simply move the rocks. Drilled 5/8 holes with a rotary hammer drill at 4†spacing. Worked like a charm. Rubber O-rings split after repeated misuse as one would expect but can easily be replaced.

Works well. You don't have to hammer it hard. Little bit at a time. As you tap. You will know which one to hit by the sound. Breaks rock easily

Used them to split big rocks in the yard. If the hole is straight on they work well but any angle (and one or both side wedges will spit out). Managed to split by drilling more holes and using a normal round wedge.Could of used more than 5 for the bigger rocks but it all worked out in the end.
