I use chain binders a lot for hauling a Bobcat T190 skid steer. These binders work as well as any of the others I have but are more compact and take up less space in the tool box. They work well with easy and smooth ratcheting and the mechanism that controls direction is easy to flip back and forth. I particularly appreciate the grip sleeves. I tend to tighten and loosen them with my hand until I need the handle to make it go faster and that sleeve helps not only with grip but avoiding that cold metal in the winter. Nice product.

I use chain tighteners on my farm a lot but I did not have any of these style. Mine were the manual ones that you tightened with a metal pole for help. These are tons easier to use and tighten and I don't have to worry about this coming loose.It does adjust a good ways out so your chain can be pretty loose when you start to tighten it. The ratcheting is easy to do.It comes with rubber grips that you can slide over the binder if you want to in order to give you a little softer (and less cold grip in winter).Overall, this does just what I want it to. It isn't top quality but it definitely isn't lower quality metal and paint job. I imagine this will last a while if I just keep some lube on the threads.

I had smaller binders from the hardware store that weren't large enough for my use. These are larger and do the job well

This binder is a slight step up from the HF version, thanks to the G80 gold-finished chain and foam covers. The gold finish can be the difference between attracting unwanted attention from a nearby DOT officer or not. Mine arrived with a slightly rough action due to overspray, but it’s forgivable and easy to remedy. Overall, it’s a fair deal, and I’d recommend it.

I’ve worked with a few of these cheap chain binders now and this is middle of the road. It’s not paint bound and everything functions out of the box unlike others I’ve had to torque on to get to lose up from overspray of paint. The flip side of that is the hooks and chain links are bare and the paint itself is thin. It will do the trick, it’s stamped with breaking strength and working load limit, I’ll get the job done but may not last forever.
