To break up clumps and ensure even distribution, use a WDT tool and a 51mm coffee distributor. Keep in mind that achieving the perfect shot may take several attempts, especially when using a bottomless portafilter.

Please Note: We recommend checking your original portafilter before order. This 51MM bottomless portafilter is only compatible for the machine which original portafilter is designed with 3 ears and each ear is 4MM thick.

  • Using a bottomless portafilter allows you to observe the extraction process more closely and helps you achieve better-flavored espresso.

  • 1.The ground coffee is too coarse. 2.The coffee beans are not fresh, please use fresh beans. 3.The tamping pressure is insufficient, please apply more pressure. 4.There is not enough ground coffee in filter, please increase the amount.

  • This is mainly caused by clumps and uneven distribution of ground coffee in the filter. To break up clumps and ensure even distribution, we recommend using a WDT tool and a 51mm coffee distributor before tamping. These will help reduce channeling.

  • 1.Please confirm the size of the bottomless portafilter you need, this is 51mm. 2.Please check how many ears your original portafilter has; this has 3 ears. 3.Please check the thickness of the ears on the original portafilter, this is 4mm thick.

  • Yes, a regular portafilter is typically equipped with a pressurized dual-wall filter, which significantly reduces the handling requirements of the ground coffee. If you're using a bottomless portafilter for the first time, it may take some practice.

Tips for Using Bottomless Portafilter!

1. Please use fresh coffee beans or ground coffee.

2. Please adjust the grinder setting to a finer setting or choose a finer ground coffee, otherwise the pressure is likely to be low. It’s suggested to use 14-15g ground coffee for a double espresso.

3. Please use the WDT tool to break up clumps in ground coffee, reducing channeling and spurting during extraction.

4. Please tamp the ground coffee evenly. We recommend you use a 51MM coffee distributor to evenly distribute the ground coffee. Tamping unevenly causing water to favor one side.

Feels solid, works on my Krups XP3208 and I was able to pull better shots. My machine is pretty high pressure so it came out pretty quick and I made a mess on my first try, but it works! Very happy with this.

Could not be happier. It fit my cheap, inexpensive espresso machine perfectly and made it feel like an expensive machine and easier to use. I love how tight the filter fits in the handle. This makes it easy to dump the grinds and rinse for multiple drinks back to back.

This portafilter is really sturdy and works well. it perfectly fits my casabrews cm5418 and i've pulled much better tasting coffee through it. it's super easy to clean and has an overall nice feel and design. it's was well worth the purchase!

Took a couple tries but like other reviews have said it's all about creating the proper puck. Solid, fits my CASABREW well, but honestly I like the pressure Portafilters that came with the unit better. I will keep this though, so I can pretend I'm a coffee snob when I have friends over
