Fermenting Any Food You Like
When an airlock bubbles, it simply means that the air pressure inside the bucket or carboy is sufficiently high to push up the little column of water and relieve the pressure.
- If it fails to bubble, all it means is that the pressure within the fermenter isn’t high enough to make it do so. This can easily happen if the lid isn’t fully closed, or if the seal isn’t perfect.

- For those of you not very familiar with Airlocks, this is a device that is needed when brewing things like beer, wine, meads, etc.
- You just fill with 1/2 or 1/3 water, pop on the cap, and plug it into your fermentation vessel.
- The airlock will allow the gas from the fermentation to escape while keep air and contaminants out.
- An airlock just *feels* more professional, and is reusable, and is far less susceptible to clogging.
- High transparency airlock help you keep and eye on how your fermentation is progressing better than the traditional plastic 'cylinder shaped' air locks.

Questions & Answers
- Will this work on 20 liters plastic bucket?
Answer: It doesn`t matter how big or small your plastic bucket is.It matter with the hole you drill on the bucket. If you use the grommet,you drill a hole 3/8’’. If #6 stopper,drill a hole 1’’-1.28’’.
- How to prevent the stopper slide out of the jug/carboy?
Answer: It will slide when the pressure in the carboy increases and the mouth of the glass bottle has water. Wipe off the water stains on the mouth of the jug before use.

- 1.Only fill your airlocks with clean water.
- 2.Clean and sanitize the airlock and plug before every use.

I use these on quart mason jars to ferment hot sauce and sour kraut. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because it should tell you what size drill bit you need to make the hole in the cap.

I think this page says it's 3/8 hole for grommet but definitely couldn't get the airlock it through. I found that a 9/16 hole worked better for me. Still a lil snug getting through but after wetting the airlock it slipped right inside. Pretty solid seal and very snug when trying to remove the airlock.
