This pair of bookbinding measuring tools comes in a shiny silver bubble mailer, with a label on the outside demonstrating how to use them. (It would've been nice if they would've also included a larger-print instruction booklet inside.) The tools are made of powder-coated steel (can stick to a magnet), with a slightly rough texture so they won't slide around. The white numbering is easy to read against the dark navy blue color I got. They are very versatile.

As an amature bookbinder, these are a godsend. I absolutely love the spine spacer, along with the other measurement sections make this VERY versatile. Getting the double-pack allows me to align the spine and both cover boards or the top and bottom of the spine. I kind of want to grab another set so that I can align everything all at once ...but I'll control myself! The actual quality of the material the guides are made from is very nice; they're crisp, strong, and the markings aren't cheap and feel like they'll wear off quickly. These will increase the precision and quality of my binds a lot. I'd highly recommend them!

This is a simple multi-use tool for bookbinding, which I am just starting to learn. Useful for squaring corners (on whatever you are cutting), alignment of book covers, sizing the leather to fit the cardboard - lots of things for craft work in general.I have seen these before in plastic and smooth metal, and I really like that this has a textured painted finish that keeps it from sliding around (a big problem with smooth plastic and metal rulers). I wish all my rulers had this textured paint. I like that it is dimensioned on both sides. It is also thick enough that it will not be easily bent in use. All in all, a great find.

I actually use this in my bullet journal, not just for binding books, but it works well and helps set up pages quickly. They do feel a little fragile but as much as is expected for a ruler - just don't store them in a way where they will get bent easily. (Plus you get two so you have a spare.)
