It's sand paper...works well, large variety of grits, fits my ryobi orbital sander. The hook and loops hold well.

I used a WORX WX820L Sandeck 5-in-1 cordless Multi-sander. The foam interface pad attached and held firmly and securely to sanders backing pad. The dust collection holes lined up pretty well. The WORX sander is kind of loud as it is but when I attached this foam backing pad, the sander really vibrated and was quite a bit louder. I have used other interface pads and do not recall this happening before. I don’t know exactly why it did this but that foam interface pad did not move one little bit! I noticed if I held the sander onto the piece of wood before starting, the vibration wasn’t as bad. When I attached the sanding discs to the interface pad I found that the holes of the disc lined up reasonably well but not perfectly with the interface pad holes. The hook & loop held securely. The lower grit sanding discs worked well. They didn’t clog up or wear down too quickly. When I went up to the 120 grit, the disc performed well but clogged up. It also cleaned up quickly and easily with one of those sandpaper erasers. I didn’t notice any wear on the disc and it still sanded well. When I went to the higher grits, they seemed to me that they needed cleaning more often and when I got to 400 grit, I couldn’t get it completely cleaned off. All sanding discs I used held up well and didn’t show much wear. I didn’t need or use any discs above 400 grit. For me, these sanding discs were good but the real winner is the foam interface pad. These pads are really good. The hook & loop is strong. Its hold was so strong that I even had some difficulty removing it from the sanders backing pad after the first use.

I'd say I'm rating this based on value at the moment. It offers a good assortment of pads and discs. The interface pads are relatively soft. They fit well on my Bosch sander, but the loop material seems a little light and the hook side of the pads don't grab as well as the hook surface on my sander. Having said that, no issues yet.The sanding discs are of average quality. The surface is fine, probably well suited for woodworking, drywall, etc. They do tend to fold inwards a bit so make sure you store them in a stack where they are flat.

First, I don't have the type of foam pads that were included with this set, just the ones that attach with fasteners to the sander. So it's handy to have these. There are a wide range of grits included here, and I thought about dinging the rating because of that, but decided against it since I knew what I was getting. The reason is this seems to be a split purpose assortment. You rarely use the upper half of the grits (320+) when woodworking, which is what I do. I think the upper range is more for auto body work or non-wood materials. So I don't know if or when I'll ever use them, but almost certainly never will for woodworking. So half of the range isn't that useful to me, but they don't go bad, so I'll keep them on hand just in case something turns up. As far as the discs themselves go, they're decent sanding discs, and each have the grit stamped on the back. A good set, I just wish they'd doubled up on the lower grits to make them more useful to me.

Should come with 40 sanding disks (10 different grits), but only came 12 sanding disks (3 different grits).

They're good sanding pads; I've only come across sanding pads that were not good one time and those just didn't stick well. These stick like they're supposed to. I like that they come with pads to replace the pad that came with my sander as needed because that helps protect the life of my sander. This set will take me through an entire project from the initial sanding, to fine grit sanding in a better way than my current regimen which is to jump from 80 to 220 with nothing in between. Not good for wood.

I'm surprised that I've never encountered the foam backing pads that this came with before. They're really nice for working on damaged or naturally rough wood. Rather than being a stiff, flat surface, it's flexible and can conform to irregular surfaces. It makes it easier to deal with some kinds of imperfections. I really like them. The sandpaper seems to be pretty standard. It lasts about as long as the previous generic papers that I'd been using. Both the sandpaper and the backing pads adhere well. For the number of sanding discs plus the backing pads you get, I think this was a great value.

I've gotten quite a few sets of sandpaper off of Amazon over the years, but I've never had a problem with the holes not lining up before this one. The paper itself lined up okay, but the foam sanding pads didn't, so when I put the paper on over the pads, you can see (image included) that part of the pads was exposed. That might be why the paper seemed to wear out a little faster than I was anticipating, or maybe the paper itself wasn't as high quality as what I usually use. I didn't test the pads with my own.My other real issue was with the pads themselves. They worked beautifully for cushioning and getting smoother edge sanding than I usually get without them, but attempting to remove the pad from my sander was a real problem. There was a point when I didn't think I was going to be able to manage it at all, and I was almost certain I was going to end up tearing the pad, which thankfully I managed to avoid, but only barely. It grips well - far TOO well. The paper came off of the pad okay, but the pad wanted to be married to the sander permanently. A wish I was not prepared to grant. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about that going forward. I might attach it permanently to a cheaper sander, or I might just avoid using them in future. Not sure yet. Maybe I can find a way to get it to not grip quite so tightly.... I'm definitely going to think twice before I attach it to my expensive sander again, though. Using them was nice, but not nice enough to risk my sander.
