The drill cut fairly well but hardly cleared itself. I had to back off a lot more than I expected and eventually had to stop and clean the blades. (I only tested it on thoroughly dry pine, as yet. )It did cut a good, smooth hole.It comes in a foam lined hard plastic case with a string strap that helps secure it a little and can be used to hang it. That's a convenient feature.

On rough projects, I have just used an oversize bit to get the head of a screw or bolt below the surface. But that quick and dirty approach won’t do on anything where I need a good finished look and a smooth surface. I got these to screw a panel to the top of my saw bench, knowing that I’ll have plenty of uses in the future. The top of the saw table has to remain flush so a good countersink bit is essential — one that cuts cleanly and leaves no splintered edges. The 3/8†bit worked admirably. I have nothing to compare them to because I have not previously used any countersinks. Still, I can see these are high quality. They are a welcome addition to my drill bit collection.

Used these a lot recently and they still cut great. I figured they would have dulled to the point of being useless, but happily, I was wrong. I used these on numerous steel brackets to counter-sick the holes and it cut fast, clean and did exactly what I needed.

This review is for the olumPRO 5PCS Cobalt 5-Flute Countersink Drill Bit Set. I have had three countersinks for years and have used them on many projects. Problem was they were not always the right size for the flat head fastener. Along comes this set at a reasonable price point and 5 sizes that work all the way down to a #2 fastener. They run true and cut well and it's a big plus that they come in a little case so they don't end up getting scattered around the bench. Tried them out with wood, plastic and aluminum and they did a nice job.
