They have just the hardness that you want. Used it on a rather reluctant piece of steel that needed to be drifted out, left no marks on the steel and only minor scuffing on the punch.

The punches are machined very precisely and have a perfect fit and finish, perfect knurling. Excellent for use where you don't want to marr up what you're driving, or in a situation where you don't want a chance of sparks flying around flammable chemicals or gases. The only thing that I would have liked to see is if the bottom end had a sharp edge and not chamfered, but that would increase the risk of edge chipping. All in all these are really awesome

These punches are very well made and came in several useful sizes for different uses. I've used the smaller ones for firearm disassembly and they work as I would expect, with no damage to the parts and minimal flowering of the punch head. The knurled bands around the punches make them easy to keep a hold of.
