Nice tap set to have on hand! I finally had a good reason to bust this set out last weekend. I had just purchased a grinder for a family member and they brought it back to me after they did a number on the threads. Low and behold, I had this set on hand because I just had a feeling it would serve a purpose sooner or later. And it did! Tested on aluminum so far and worked beautifully. The tool is now functional again, saving me a lot of money on purchasing another. I'm happy!

Pretty low quality - but for NPT you can get away with some pretty shoddy threading...

So far I've put the 1/2" tap through hell and back. Going strong, about 70~ pvc taps and it's holding up okay.Metal seems a LITTLE cheesy, but then, I am using hardened tooling so I could just be shaving bits off due to that.Threads are holding up alright, NPT fittings run through them no problem.Chased some brass with chewed up threads, restored some iron to good working condition and saved me a colossal headache.Absolutely worth grabbing these, good value.

The taps are sharp, and come in a convenient storage case. In my limited use, they have performed very well. They are a great value for the price.

It's nice to have this set to add to my tap & die mixed collection. Seems I am always messing around with pipe fittings and some in the bucket have either been used before and others may just be older or lesser brands with bad threads for one reason or another. This is a decent inexpensive set in a nice little case that will really help with cleaning/straightening out the threads when I need a fitting or nipple to do that little repair, or extend that pipe etc. and the fitting or piece I have is just not fitting properly. I can quickly use this set to revive an older fitting and not have to go buy a new one.

We need to put NPT pipe thread in a flange to accept a short nipple. This was able to tap the thread we needed in a 1/2" steel plate without any issues. While it doesn't get used every day, or month, I'm sure it could handle some abuse by a true tradesman.
