I purchased a couple of different kits for an existing light fixture that I recently acquired. I inadvertently broke the somewhat flimsy OEM part and wanted a more safe installation. (I'm guessing the fixture weighs 40 pounds) This particular kit had the heaviest hardware and replaced the original perfectly. looks as good as the original.

The kit comes with easy step-by-step instructions, as well as an expanded view of the hardware stack-up order.PROS:1) There are a few colors offered to match your decor.2) This kit comes with 6' of chain so you should have more than enough for a pendant or swag.3) All the correct pieces to install a light or swag.4) Doesn't feel flimsy or cheap.5) Good, clear directions.The only con for me is that this white set is a rather flat white. I wanted a glossier white, but it'll work fine otherwise.

I got this to modify a lovely blue and white lamp that came with an ugly wood fixture and hemp rope power cord. This canopy kit comes with everything I need to update the fixture and match it to my white ceiling. I'll be replacing the power cord with a white one that will weave into the white chain. I like the basic simplicity of this canopy kit. I did find I have to be careful with the white painted coating as it does scratch easily, but it's also easily touched up. I also think the collar ring could be just a tad larger as it barely covers the opening in the canopy. The chain is a great length if you have high ceilings - but I wasn't strong enough to pry them open and remove as needed - that was my husband's job. For me, the value was in getting everything I needed to make the modifications rather than purchasing all the elements separately.

We got this to fancy up our porch light. It is a drop-down pendent light and this allows it to drop down a little more. It is easy to put up and gives the light a nice look it was lacking.
