The filters work perfectly but the original unit has a light that indicates when the filter needs to be replaced. It now stays on red, needing to be changed.

I agree with some of the other reviews that it seems to filter the water very quickly. However, during the summer our water supply comes from a local lake. The water tastes and smells like lake water. These filters remove all of that taste and smell along with the chlorine taste and smell. So far as whether or not it removes lead and other contaminants as it claims, I have to rely on the fact that it is certified to do so unless I want to pay to have a sample analyzed. I will say that the filtered water seems to by crystal clear. They are inexpensive and accomplish what I want them to do as far as I can tell, so I'm satisfied.
