I got these fiberglass broomsticks for my boat. Not as brooms for sweeping it out, but as support poles for holding up a shade cloth. The poles are fairly light but sturdy so they can do their job of holding up the shade cloth while not adding much weight to the boat. Rather than screwing on a brood head, I have found some plastic utility hooks to screw on – these help support the shade thing. While I don’t use them as broomsticks, I have no doubt that they will work very well as broomsticks for the same reasons.The price at the time of this review was $43 for 6, or about $7 per handle. Whether for sweeping, or for other purposes, this is a very good price for these fiberglass broomsticks.

These are SO dang useful. There's been a million times I wished that I had a spare broomhandle around. Now I do. They are light but seem decent quality so that they'll last and do the job. I am SO pleased to have these.
