If you manage very heavy files, have a server, NAS or heavy workflow on your network, this switch It’s the one for you.Note: this works as an extension of your network improving the transfer speed only of devices attached to it. You need router to assign IP or manually assign them on your main PC / server. This Switch comes with a DC power supply and that’s it. It has a sturdy metal case with no fans but it doesn’t overheat when its heavily used. Has 10/100/1000/2500 mb/s and an extra 10G SFP.Works out of the box, once connected it handles all your devices with different speeds, I have a NAS, 2 PCs with 2.5g Nics and other devices with 1000 and 100 mb and my network speed is flawless. It’s really affordable, works great and has very good transfer speed management between devices. Recommended.

It's unmanaged but that's all you need for your internal network. No special wires are required. As long as you have CAT6 connections in your house and the distances are under 50m you should easily be able to connect at 2.5G speeds with an appropriate 2.5G NIC. I have it daisy chained via TWINAX 10G connectors I got for like 8 bucks. Flawless backbone connection to my Netgear mixed 1G/2.5G/5G/10G Switch.Great connections, maintains burst transfers, massive upgrade to the 18 Port 1G Cisco Small Business it replaced. NICGIGA is a decent brand overall. The quality is solid, I have a Dual 10G Intel Nic from them and a Broadcom 10G NIC that I push through this at maximum speeds. Very satisfied.

This seems like a good non managed switch, but it ended up not working for me. I couldn't get the transfer rates to were I wanted. I ultimately switch over to a managed switch so I had more local control of the switching.

I was looking to upgrade my setup to a 2.5g lan/wan setup and this unmanaged switch works wonderfully for my needs. Very good throughout, no loss of signal or speed. A+++ in my books

NOTE: this review is specifically for the 8 Port 2.5G Ethernet Switch with 10G SFP Uplink variant.I bought this to use in an environment with both 1 gig and 2.5 gig connections. For a few months, it performed admirably.A few days ago, it failed on 2.5 gig connections. The 2.5 gig connections didn't negotiate down to 1 gig, they just stopped working entirely. I confirmed this by swapping out cables, switches, NIC cards, and the like. The worst part is that when I emailed their support team (support@gigaplus.com), the email just bounces. If they're not supporting these then I can't recommend you buy one.

This little switch easily handles my new 2.5Gb Internet speed, but I quickly realized that I wouldn't see anything faster happen unless my PCs had interfaces capable of receiving that fast. I purchased some USB-based solutions to handle that speed and really don't wait on anything any more.

I had recently upgraded my home internet speed to 1.5Gbps fibre, but my old switch was limited to 1Gbps. This switch unlocked the full speed. Haven't run into any issues with it yet.

Nutze den 2.5 GBit/s Switch zwischen PC, MAC mini, NAS und Fritz!Box, also 3 Ports plus Uplink sind genutzt.
