I needed a beautiful, but sturdy Shepherd's Hook, to hold Wind Chimes I received from my Mother's Funeral. I am extremely happy with it's sturdiness & looks. However, one of the extensions seemed to be stripped & wouldn't screw in place correctly. Thankfully it's tall enough without it. Priced right & worth every penny. I Absolutely Love It!!

I’ve made a few bad purchases, but this me takes the cake! First, no literature or assembly instructions at all. I did the best I could and found just screwing the pieces together was a challenge. The threads on the rods were almost non-existent. When fully assembled, it came apart twice! I moved the rods around and found a spot to where they would stay together. I attached the rods to the base and found the top hook was top-heavy and pulled over the base. The base was uneven and not able to hold the hook upright, let alone adding anything to the hook to hold. I was so disgusted with this product, I threw it away! As I already threw away the packaging, I did not return this item. I wasted $$ and warn the next potential purchaser to stay away from this product!

This shepherds hook stand is great quality! This thing is super heavy and will hold quite a bit of weight. It looks great next to my front porch holding a hanging basket of flowers!

I was impressed when taking it out of the box how heavy duty it felt. There were no instructions but it seemed pretty straightforward. I screwed together the pieces and tightened them up but when I set it on my patio it was not standing straight up and one of the pieces could still spin. I couldn't tighten it. I removed the bottom piece and flipped it over and it seems to be straighter and sturdier but still not as stable as I had hoped. I got this to hang a rather heavy wind chime. I am feeling like I will need to somehow secure the bottom with spikes or weights to make it feel supportive enough to trust. Or I may just remove the piece that doesn't tighten and have it be shorter and therefore more stable.

This is a 63" tall shepherds hook, I have it at max height--it can be shortened by leaving off a pole piece during assembly as described. The black powder coated pipes crew together easily, but I have not been able to unscrew them again in order to make it shorter--they just wouldn't come apart. The base is somewhat sturdy, but not quite wide enough base heavy to hold anything very weighty. The pole is not very heavy, nor is it very sturdy--for the tall version anyway--maybe the shorter version would be a little sturdier. This will surely fall over in a wind if you don't secure it somehow. I was not able to hang very weighty chimes (as their photo depicts) without it falling over. My intention was for hanging chines indoors near a vent so I could occasionally hear them. I was able to hang a resin solar lamp OK.Bottom line is-- this will not hang anything very heavy unless you secure it. It does look nice for decor though.
