HOW TO USE THE GRILL GRATES ONCE YOU GOT IT
- It's recommended that you preheat new grates made with matte enamel cast iron before using them for the first time. This will remove any processing residue.Y
- ou should oil your grates before or after each use for best cooking results.
- Dip a bunched up paper towel into a high-heat cooking oil (such as Canola oil, olive oil or peanut oil). Be careful not to saturate the paper towel. You want enough oil on it to coat the grill grate, but you don't want it dripping everywhere.
- Using an oven mitt and tongs, carefully wipe the paper down on the grill grate.
HEAVY DUTY AND MORE HEAVIER THAN OTHERS
- Thicker solid rods and heavier than others
- When your grill is cold
- You can also apply the same high-heat cooking oil (Canola, olive, peanut) when the grates are cold. Cover the grates with the oil and remove the excess with a paper towel.
- Light your grill and let it burn until the oil on the grates starts smoking or burns off.
REVERSIBLE GRATE
- Two-sided cast iron, Create two different grill marks on your food.
- Cast-iron grates covered with enamel to prevent them from rusting. Using non-metallic grill tools on this type of barbecue grate will also add life to the grate.
EASY TO CLEANING YOUR GRILL GRATES
- Before you oil your grill grates, it's important to brush off any burned food particles that might be left from the last time you barbecued.
- The easiest way to do this is with a premium nylon grill brush. It allows you to clean off your grates without turning the grill on.Simply scrub the grates until all burned food is removed.
- Once you're done, you're ready to move on to oiling the grates.

It was tough but I found the exact grates for my Weber II Genesis GS4. You have to make sure you choose the right model and years or it may not fit. These fit to perfection and look and feel like the original. Extremely pleased with purchase. A bit costly but you get what you pay for. I wanted the best so it cost to get the best. It’s as if they said we can rebuild it, we can make the worlds best grate, better, faster, stronger…if you know where that’s from, you’re from my generation.

We bought a Weber BBQ and tried unsuccessfully to get the cast iron grills through the hardware store where we purchased it. They didn’t have the right size in stock, and never could get it for us. We were happy to find them on Amazon, and they just make everything we BBQ taste so much better. And clean-up is a breeze. No more stainless steel!

This was perfect replacement for the Genesis Grill grates that were too rusty and dirty even after a cleaning. Happy to just replace them and not worry about food safety or having to spend a lot to get a new grill.These were well packaged and arrived with no damage.

Not quite exactly the same as the original Weber grates. Larger gap in the middle between the two pieces. Also not quite as smooth. When trying to season with a paper towel soaked in vegetable oil, the paper towel will rip - be gentle. I found it better to just soak my hand with oil and rub the grates with my hand. Otherwise they seem OK.

This was part of my grill maintenance, replacement upgrade and it is like I have a new Weber grille now. First time I have ever done this, I usually just trash them and buy a new grille but this saved me a few hundred dollars and now I am back to cooking with GAS again!

I got these yesterday and put them in the grill to season them. They seem fine and are the right size for my Weber Genesis II grill, though they are slightly narrower than the OEM grates. This doesn't seem like it's going to be a big problem. There is one major difference between the OEM grates and these replacements. The OEM grates are meant to be reversible - you can cook on both sides of them. On one side the cooking surface is flatter and wider and the other side is narrower and pointier. The horizontal pieces (two in each grate) that separate the vertical bars are "integrated" in the OEM grates. In the replacement grates, the horizontal piece sits on top of the vertical bars, making it harder to cook on the narrower, pointier side of the grates. I always cooked on the fatter side, so it doesn't really matter and at 60% the price of the OEM grates, I'm willing to give them a try. If you like cooking on the narrower side, you may want to look elsewhere.
