I have owned diesel trucks for over 20 years and my other trucks always had a plug. I was a bit surprised that my Ram didn't come with one. It always started up fine with the grid heater, but would take a long time to fully warm up.I decided to look for a solution and found this quality kit that isn't difficult to install. It is a nice design that simply plugs into a connection on the block and has nylon ties to help secure it.I can now hop in my truck when it is single digits and have warm heat in a very short time. It provides comfort and extra safety considering I can clear the windows quicker in the mornings as well. With the design of all of these, it will provide heat to the block when it is plugged in to an outlet. To save on electricity, I put it on a timer to come on for 3 hours before I intend to drive the truck in the mornings.
