I don't use pipe taps very often, but every once in a while you end up with a fitting that has some damage on the threads and needs to be cleaned up. Most cases I would throw the fitting away, but not now.Pros: Carbon steel and sharp threads. These taps are tapered, but I have noticed over the years that not all fittings have the same taper angle. I tried some of them out in a some couplers I had and the 1/4" coupling stopped short before threading all the way in.Cons: Taps are only good as long as they last or don't break. Time will be the judge of these.

This is an excellent tap set! I tried them on some PVC first, and they cut threads in effortlessly with a battery powered hand drill. I tried some copper pipe, and while my drill struggled a little, it cut very well. I switched to a corded drill, and it chewed through it no problem. Comes with plenty of sizes, and for the price, this is a great deal!
