I like the size and rigidity but the amazon website says there is a template to drill holes, mine has no template. My Craftsman blower has no holes so I was going to drill them using the template. If I knew the recommended hole size I could measure it out. One reviewer (Buckerou) said he cut 21/64 holes on 3 in centers so I will verify. Because of this it gets a 4.UPDATE: I measured it out and verified the reviewer with the recommended hole size/placement was right on so I just installed it using those dimensions; worked great and very tight. I had to pinch the ears together on the retention pin and simultaneously beat the fitting pins thru the hole but it worked good. The seller ought to either provide dimensions for holes or take the note off the web that a template is provided. PS: In 23 years I have never sheared an auger pin but bought some if I ever do. I drilled some holes in the plastic cowling on the blower so I will know where they are and easily accessible IF I ever need; good insurance.

I've been seeing new snow blowers at the B&M stores all coming with one of these tools attached to the chute. This last snow we had, I definitely could've used one. I decided I'm getting one of these tools before the next snow comes. I ordered the BiLLNE 731-2643 chute clearing tool as it seemed reasonably priced. My old Toro didn't have much of area on the back of the blower, so I attached it to the upper panel. I attached it by drilling two 21/64" holes, 3" apart (center to center) and 1" down from the top of the panel. I had to use a bit of force to get the plastic pins into the holes (but I wanted a tight fit). The end result can be seen in my picture. I'm hoping I don't need to try it till next winter. This is a reasonably priced and essential accessory for all snow throwers.

Bought this for my Craftsman snowblower. It fit the existing holder like a glove. Nicely made and very sturdy.

This chute-clearing tool is an exact duplicate of the one that shipped with my Troy-Bilt snow blower (28" Storm Tracker). In fact, after I laid them down and photographed them, I couldn't remember which one was the original from the snow blower and which one came from Amazon. The tool comes with a mounting bracket, also identical to the one originally on the snow blower.I assume it is a replacement for all Troy-bilt and other MTD snow blowers, but I can only speak to my specific model. If you're looking for a replacement if you've mislaid yours, or you have a snow blower that didn't come with a chute-clearing tool, this is a great deal.
