Love this product!! 1 short blast & the irritating constantly barking neighbor's dog finally shut up!!!!!!! They have a doggy door & the dog can come & go as he wants--which is fine but Not to come out and bark and bark and bark FOREVER!!!! Owner rarely home and doesnt care if neighbors are disturbed. We talked thru the fence (once) we have knocked on their door...wont answer. We have called...wont answer & even though we left message with details, wont return our calls. We've filed with the city animal control and they were fined $175. Nothing has helped. But this horn has worked!!!! Neighbors on the other side are so happy, with a new baby they have lost so much sleep due to the constant barking. Peace and quiet is so nice!!!

This horn is not one of the weak horns you hear in some of those videos where people are trying to scare others. This is very loud - so loud that if you put it too close to somebody's ear that you'll probably cause some damage. This would make a great marine horn or a great crowd pleaser at an outdoor sporting event provided you are not right next to the spectators.It is made very well. I have assembled and disassembled this many times and never feel like the threads wear out. Highly recommend this - don't let kids get a hold of this or they will wreck each others' ears.

Worked well to drive off neighbor's loose dog. Don't you hate rude neighbors who don't properly care for their pets? We have such a butt-head and wish the horn worked as well to drive him away as it did on his dog. gb

If you're getting this and haven't bought or used one before, be sure to notice that there is no lock feature at all. You "lock" the button by unscrewing the horn assembly from the air can. I have this horn in my car so I can't keep it assembled or there's a risk I'll accidentally press the button inside the car and blow out my eardrums. So it's not really useful for me at all, I need to be able to use it at a moment's notice without having to put it together. You also may want a bracket to hold it up in a safe area where it won't get bumped.Basically I ordered the wrong product so it's my fault. But I wanted to give other people a heads up if they hadn't thought about lock buttons either.

1. Air canister securely "threads" onto horn for a FIRM, UNYIELDING CONNECTION.2. Button to activate is relatively LARGE, BRIGHT WHITE--different color than "horn trumpet". It's a very STIFF BUTTON--you won't be discharging this by accident.3. So loud, I cannot use it for original intended purpose--gift to neighbor widow whose home has been broken into.4. One two-second "test" discharge impacted my hearing--leaving me shaken. BUT, DH refuses to return because he wants the "just in case" capability this provides. [He also has readily deployable ear protection.]Unreservedly recommended for nautical or comparable "great outdoor" uses--but understand, this is a serious piece of "noise making". DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THIS AT A SPORTS EVENT. This is NOT a toy.

I bought this for this sole purpose of scaring away black bears that come through the area every fall and spring seeking additional calories. They get into feed and look for garbage. They love to destroy my bird feeders. I take the feeders in at night time but one particular seed loving bear comes here during the day. Last time he showed up in our back yard I pressed the button twice. He ran into the woods but sat there and waited until he thought that I went away. So as he headed for the house again I pushed the button three times in a row and he took off. I have not seen him for over a week. I’m sure that he or some other bears will show up again but I am ready for them.I only had to screw on the top piece to be armed and ready for bears. You might want to get your own pets away because it scares all animals.
