My rating is based mostly on price. I've purchased more expensive sandbags in the past that came with less but cost more, so in terms of the price range these are pretty good. In terms of likes vs dislikes, the story changes. Really these are between a 3 and 4 if money isn't a concern. I happened to get in a few ambitful sandbags with a light stand at the same time and have to say that the ambitful bags were better. I like the longer profile of the ambitful and the rigid rod that runs through the spine. They hold the same amount of sand and while these bags came with plastic bags, the ambitful did not.Tip: When closing up your plastic bag, hit the ziplock with a bit of duct tape to ensure that it doesn't pop open.For the price, these are a good option if you're doing light duty stuff. If you're doing constant productions where these things are getting tossed in and out of vehicles, I'd look elsewhere.

I filled two of the plastic zipper bags that are included, and they started leaking immediately. Then, I tried double-bagging them. Still leaked. I left them in a empty dish bin overnight and they leaked about 1/3 of their contents over night. So DO NOT use these bags for water. Sand, dirt, something like that...fine. But liquids? You'll have a mess on your hands.However, you can fit three standard bottles of water (16.9oz) in each side, or five if you are okay with not closing the actual sack. That gives you enough weight for most applications. I would use sand, but the reason I got these was to have something that can go in a gear bag without taking up a lot of room or adding a lot of weight, and then just filled once on a location. The leaky bags make that less flexible, but still doable.

These sand bags are perfect for anchoring a pop-up canopy. When filled fully with sand. The product info. says each bag can hold up to 25 lbs of sand. I didn't weigh it but filled, they are hefty. Here's what I like:**Good Size for Anchoring Portable Things -- I really like that these bags are small enough to pack when camping or traveling. They aren't nearly as large as a typical construction sandbag but good for weighing down stuff in windy conditions.**Easy Fill -- Velcro-Like Seals -- Sand gets caught in zippers. These bags have a Velcro-like closure strip that's easy to use, again and again.**Carrying Strap Helpful -- The built-in strap is useful not only for carrying but for securing these sandbags to whatever they are weighing down.**Flexible Material -- The bags are made of a plastic fabric that's flexible and easy to manipulate. More flexible than a stiff drop cloth.I haven't used these bags long enough to comment on durability. They initially work well when full. The handles support the load of sand and the bag material also hold up to the load.If you are looking for portable sandbags, I recommend these.

Nice set of sandbags, The material is thick and the handle is comfortable, especially when loaded with sand. They come with plastic bag inserts and carabiners too. These are must-haves for photographers with backdrops, light stands, and anything else that needs stabilizing agents. These are hand for non-photographers too. If you have something that the wind can topple over, these are great.

I added a couple of new stands to my workflow, so needed a few more sandbag weights. Here's how testing went:- typical materials, but single layer, whereas many offerings are double- included plastic bags and clips are also lighter duty. fine for this application, wouldn't use for anything else.- some loose threads, but appears to only be at the end of the stitching. the stitching itself seems fine.- complete set of four weights, and the velcro is much easier to work with than the typical zippers.overall they are pretty decent bags, but at the price point they become a pretty good value. Four complete sets in a much easier to use velcro. now given they are single layer, lighter duty materials, and simple construction...I'd recommend these to a beginner or someone on a tight budget who isn't going to be doing a lot of tugging around with these. for myself, they will likely never leave my studio (or at very least my yard), so I won't have to tear them down ever, so they should be great for me. I fear a lot of travel and assembly, unassembly would weaken the materials and stitching too much, and you would want heavier duty for travel.

Can you ever have enough sandbags? I say no, but you have to know what you're getting. These are lower priced and a little thinner than I had hoped for. That said, if you use 16 oz water bottles they hold up pretty well most the time. I've not had any problems yet and for the price, if you're careful, these could work out nicely.
