These 8" Pyle speakers look great and sound wonderful.First the speakers arrived very quickly and with no damage whatsoever. We will be ordering more to complete our whole house project. What's in the box:In each box you will find two speakers with grillsInstructions / installation bookletAdhesive pads if needed to re-attach the grill**Installation Tip** I had a hard time figuring how to remove the grill without bending it all to pieces. Simply flip the speaker over on your lap (you will be looking at the magnet side of the speaker). Flip out all of the plastic clips that holds it to the ceiling. Once you flip them out press down on them one at a time while holding the speaker up and the screws will drop down and push the grill out.We started with our surround sound in the living room. We installed the front surround speakers in the ceiling and with the adjustable tweeter it worked well for us. We also used these for the back speakers behind our seating area. For the installation of each, I knew approximately where I wanted the speakers so I used the old "knock and listen" technique to locate a joist. I found where I thought was the center and I drove a small nail into the ceiling (in case I was wrong I wouldn't have a large screw or nail hole in my ceiling). I then pushed a thin piece of wire through the hole and then went into the attic to check my spacing between the joists. Once I located the center between the joists I measured from each wall to my small hole to make sure my other speaker lined up perfectly with this one.I took the piece of wire out of the ceiling and pushed it through the center of my template and then place the wire back through the hole on the ceiling. I marked around the template with a pencil and then cut out my circle. The speakers all slipped right into place, I tightened the screws, replaced the grill, ran my wires and hooked them all up and we now have surround sound in our ceiling.**Installation Tip 2** The first hole I cut on the inside of the line just in case the template was too large but for the other three I cut right on the line with a manual drywall saw and they fit perfectly. Just take your time and don't rush the job and you will have outstanding results. We're very pleased with the look. I've seen where some people painted theirs in order to have them blend into the ceiling but you really don't notice ours and even if someone does, they look nice and look professionally installed. Like I said before we will be buying more to complete our whole house speaker system including a set of outdoor speakers on the front and back of the house and I will definitely use Pyle, you can't beat the price.

I wanted to install speakers in the waiting room of my office but I knew my employer was not going to reimburse me for my expenses. That made price my main selection criteria. We had been using a small portable radio and I got tired of the customers changing the channel so I installed these speakers in the ceiling and put the receiver in an employee-only area. For my needs, these were perfect. I am a fairly handy DIYer but the installation was so simple with the included template that I believe anyone brave enough to cut into a ceiling tile with a utility knife would be able to handle it. Fishing the speaker wire through a wall into another room took the most time but, in total, I had these up in less than an hour including cleaning up my mess. The sound is fantastic. This probably does not perform like Bose but I didn't pay a Bose price for them. For less than $50, I'd buy these again every year if that's how long they last. They've been in for about 3 months now and our experience has been nothing but positive so far. And even though I did not get reimbursed, it's worth it to me to have a high quality sound for the waiting room that can still be heard throughout the building. I'm completely satisfied with the purchase and I highly recommend them.

The grill started to get rusty just after 2 weeks outside, completely covered from rain and moisture. Gonna need to spray paint it.

For less than $50, these are an outstanding deal - cheaper than what I could have bought at Home Depot/Lowes. Wanted a set of white inexpensive ceiling speakers for the formal dining room - wife holds occassional card games and other women group functions in there and wanted some background music. These Pyle speakers were perfect: inexpensive, sounds good (though it does lack bass - but hey when you get a gaggle of women playing cards they don't care or appreciate the fact that the bass level is lacking). Very easy to install (it takes more time to run the speaker wiring up in the attic than to install the speakers). Make sure you have a wall board hand saw, a good stud finder (make sure there are no studs located on the other side of the ceiling where you want to install the speakers), and a Shop Vac (for the clean up). I would definitely buy these again and would recommend them.

I installed them in my bedroom ceiling to go along with my projector setup. They sound good. It’s nice that you can adjust tweeter positioning, they can swivel. I left them straight and they sound just fine. No complaints.

I purchased 3 pairs of these 8" speakers, 2 pairs of 6.5 and 1 pair of 4" water proof. All of these speakers are for my basement remodel. I purchased them in March and just got to installing them now (September). I opened the first box of 8" speakers and one of the speakers has a hole. I contacted the manufacture and requested warranty service this is the response from support@pyleaudio.com:"This is considered cosmetic wear, it will not affect the performance of the speaker. We would suggest either a small patch or a durable tape to cover the hole. We would only replace it providing the speaker was blown or unable to produce sound."So I hooked the speaker up and the speaker makes a hideous rattle sound on every bass note. I contacted support again and told them of the situation and have received no response, obviously they have chosen not to stand behind their product. In the mean time I choose to set that speaker aside and use a speaker from one of the other boxes. While the replacement speaker is intact the sound is distorted even at low levels. I have a custom built recording studio as part of my basement remodel and these speakers where to be used as monitors so they did not have to be of outstanding, but I expected to at least be able to hear the music with some semblance of clarity.Bottom line, these speakers are of very poor quality and the manufacturer will not honor their own warranty.

I purchased for my basement ceiling as rear sounds around speakers and enjoyed them so much I purchased two more for the fitness area. If you’re an audiophile this might not be the speakers for you, but if you like to crank your music they put out plenty of good sound. I put insulation behind them in the ceiling cavity and they sound great. Easy to install and the included template made cutting the holes a breeze.

I am fussy about audio. These are not hifi speakers, they do sound ok for what little money they cost. They will not handle the rated power. They are fine with 50w rms. I use these in outdoors in the BBQ area and expect they will suffer eventually from the weather but I will simply order another set. Stick with the 8” as they have lots more bass over smaller speakers

The larger driver Pyle sounds really good but for sub £50 a pair I don’t think you can go wrong, I paired these up with Tibo smart amps around the house and have an amazing sound multi room audio system which people think cost a fortune for pennies in the pound. Very happy with these
