Bought a new refrigerator from home Depot. They told me to get a new stainless steel line for ice hookup. I did. After 2 weeks water tasted a little like metal. Changed filter even though it was new same issue. Changed to this pex line and guess what no more bad taste. Worked great

I bought a new fridge it came with the flexible metal sheath type. The water tasted like I was drinking out of an old innertube. Not covered under the warranty. I bought this, problem solved.

This line is EXCELLENT and has NO taste or smell, which you would think would be an no-brainer in a water/ice maker line, but you’d be wrong!Our old ice maker line developed a pinhole. We purchased the only brand available at Home Depot (the ice maker line with a braided stainless steel cover). While we would have preferred to have the braided cover to avoid a damaging leak again, the line made the ice cubes taste like plastic. Horribly, unmistakeable plastic smell/taste that made water undrinkable, and our ice unusable, even seeping into the plastic ice bin in the freezer. It was disgusting. We tried soaking the line in EVERYTHING (lemon, vinegar, even the fizzy denture/bottle reservoir cleaner). We wasted gallons and gallons of water flushing it over and over and making bins and bins of unusable ice and months of time trying to get the smell out. It was awful.THIS LINE IS PERFECT. No soaking necessary. Ice is clean tasting from the word go. As it should be. Thank you for this simple yet hard to find product!
