I’m using these eye hooks as improvised hinge points for the hoop covers on a large raised bed. I use three eyes at each hinge point. I space two of them about 4 inches apart on the 2X10 that lays flat at the top of the bed and screw a third one into an extended piece I have screwed to the base piece of the cover. I use a 5/8 x 6 inch bolt as the hinge pin. This system eliminates the need for precision during installation.

i drilled a slightly smaller hole than the eye hook and tightened the eye hook down with a screw driver threw the hole in the eye hood works perfect
