Simple with no edges for the wire mesh to catch on. Exactly what every kitchen needs. I’ve used it to drain water, sift dry materials, wash grains and rice— it does it all.

This strainer is very well made, excellent quality and the handles are almost exact copies of the AlClad lines of stainless steel strainers which are discontinued. Made from T-304 stainless this will be rust resistant and good to go in the dishwasher. The mesh is perfect for straining out very fine particles from liquids. I make a lot of bone broth.The value is superb comparing it to the other strainers offered.

Fits snugly into my three quart saucepan and traps ALL of Bob's Red Mill white quinoa which makes rinsing the quinoa a breeze! The product appears sturdy and well made and is sold for a reasonable price.

Usually the rim is where I have problem with food material getting stuck. This one is so tight you can rinse it out easily (see photos). The mesh is very fine which is what I need for this type of strainer. My only note for imorovement is a more comfortable handle. But that's a really minor ding

Just received yesterday & I already tried it out today. My homemade chicken stock is markedly clearer with the use of this strainer (with much finer mesh) than it has previously been with my other strainers. I am washing and drying it by hand, because a lot of items that are sold as "stainless steel" turn out to be just coated with a layer of stainless steel, and this eventually leads to rust. The high heat and chemicals used in a dishwasher break metal kitchenware down over time, and I'm not taking any more chances.This strainer is not the type of implement that you should shake up and down to strain whatever you put in it - the reality is, none of these types with handles are actually meant to be used that way. If that's the application you're looking for, I recommend buying a colander, with 2 small handles and stabilizing feet.

I bought this as it has very sturdy, riveted handles - it was to replace one where the handle solder had failed. I am delighted with this one - the quality is outstanding and it's a big sieve, so it's a handy alternative to a colander for draining rice or small pasta or grains.
