This works for its intended purpose of separating water from fat.On the positive side, this can be set on a flat surface while waiting for layers to separate.My negative: I was disappointed in the cross sectional area at the bottom; I thought separators had a more funnel shaped bottom so you could do a better job separating the two layers. However, I didn't see any other options that seemed to address this issue.

This fat separator is well made, easy to use and my only regret is that I did not find this years ago. It is easy to use and a very welcome addition to my kitchen ‘gadgets’.

This fat separator is fantastic!!! It makes making gravy so easy, the design of it is great, it’s easy to clean and well made. The stopper on the bottom seals good so there’s no leaking when you’re not releasing, I like the functionality of this cups design, I would recommend.

I got this for my mom since her other one (a different brand) went MIA. She immediately said she was using it tonight for Christmas dinner. Not only did she love it more than her previous one, but my aunt and cousin loved it so much both of them are now each getting one!It has a great design with the bottom opening! I was worried about cleaning, but it was a breeze! Much easier than trying to clean out a spout. It is larger than what I envisioned, but that is a great thing!!

When I opened this up and realized that the main part of the body was plastic and not glass, I had strong reservations as to its efficacy. However, I was relieved to find that that was a non issue regarding hot liquids. I also assumed that the rather flimsy flow regulator at the bottom would leak and be too ineffective. Wrong again, as it worked as intended. I have used the unit twice already, and it washed and worked just fine. LAC

Love this fat separator. I make alot of pulled pork and this works perfectly to strain out the fat & bits. I threw out my old spout style separator after getting this one. There is no comparison. I do hand wah it just because I wouldn’t want it to get damaged in the dishwasher. Great design & quality.
