  • ANTI-Freezing FOR WATER PIPES: Industrial grade heating cable (7W/FT), can well keep the temperature inside the pipe higher than 77°F (25°C), even on cold winter nights, the water pipe will not freeze due to low temperature.
  • RAPID WARMING: start heating within one minute of power on, rapid warming to more than 30 degrees Celsius and keep at 50-60 degrees Celsius and maintain, rapid defrosting and continuous insulation!
  • Energy-SAVING and EFFICIENT: when it warms up to about 60 degrees Celsius within a few minutes, it automatically reduces the power to maintain a constant temperature, safe, energy-saving and reliable!
  • SAFE and RELIABLE: efficient heating materials wrapped in flame retardant materials, and composite with explosion-proof steel wire and insulation surface layer, explosion-proof flame retardant double protection!
  • WORRY-FREE PURCHASE: the selection of high-quality materials handmade, each product is packaged before the power test to ensure product quality!

I ordered the 18FT Heat Tapeby BDDFOTO to stop my water lines from freezing this winter. This year has been particularly bad for single digit days. I wanted something to project my water lines under a section of my house. I chose this industrial-grade heating cable which is rated at 7W per foot and operates on 115V. These tapes are designed to ensure that the temperature inside the pipe remains well above the freezing point, even on the coldest of winter nights. The product promises to maintain an internal temperature of at least 77°F (25°C), which is more than sufficient to prevent water pipes from freezing and potentially bursting. One of the nice features of this heat tape is its rapid warming capability. Upon being plugged in, the cable begins to heat within just one minute, quickly reaching a temperature of over 85 degrees Celsius. It then maintains a steady temperature between 130-140 degrees Fahrenheit , ensuring continuous insulation and rapid defrosting if needed. I like how quickly it heats up if temperatures plummet rapidly. The consistent heat output also means that the water flow remains uninterrupted, and so far , I haven't had any frozen pipes this year. The self-regulating design of this cable means that once it reaches the desired temperature it automatically reduces its power consumption to maintain a constant temperature. The automatic regulation feature is definitely an advantage over traditional heating methods that often consume more power. The cable is constructed with heating materials that are encased in flame-retardant sheathing and provide an additional layer of protection against fire hazards. The composite design also includes steel wire and an insulating surface layer, offering protection against both fire and explosion. I found the 18FT Heat Tape by BDDFOTO efficient, and an all around safe solution for preventing water pipe freezing. Overall, I am happy with my order.

Heat tape was incredibly stiff and hard to tape but heats up as needed. I would recommend different tape as the tape they sent isn’t strong enough to hold with how stiff the heat cord is and will come off after a day or two

GAME CHANGER!We have a hydrant near our front porch where the builder couldn't install a typical faucet in the wall of the house to the outside. The hydrant began to have a slow drip in late autumn which Hubby didn't attend to - regardless (or because) of my constant nagging. A few weeks into winter, a polar vortex arrived with temps well below freezing and we were going to end up with a broken pipe if we didn't address the issue, which had become a frozen "drip" of water.I looked up a YouTube video on how to install this product, which was better and faster than the instructions - at least for my husband. An hour after the installation, Hubby reported that all was well, again..

Don't do what I did. I put off installing it until the water actually came to a full stop. I even had the heat strip already, so I had no excuse.Since I already had this heat strip, I was able to get it on the pipes, the pipes thawed, and the water flowing again before it froze enough to explode anything.I just wish I'd installed it before so I didn't up needing to do it in the kind of conditions that freeze pipes. Also, if being out in that kind of weather doesn't make me sick, why do I have a stuffy nose and a headache now?Anyway, I'm just saying you might do yourself a favor if you install this as soon as you get it so you don't have to do it in a pressured rush.Just git er done, my friends.Don't do (sniff)..like I did.Edit: It didn't even cross my mind until later that I could have plugged it in and had it warm while I installed it. I could have been so much more comfortable.

I got this to melt the snow and ice that accumulate by my basement walkout door. I have previously used a heated door mat for this, but it finally gave out. For me, this heat tape is a cheap substitute for a new heated door mat, and it melts the snow.

I ordered this 18ft waterproof outdoor heat tape to help provide heat in the soil for germination in my cold frame. Today, I tested the heat tape to make sure it functioned properly before going through the trouble of installing it. It performed great. I don’t know what temperature it got up to but I can imagine it would perform anywhere you want to avoid snow since the heat tape felt like it reached a warm bath temperature. For me, it will extend my growing season by about 4-6 months this year and should reach and maintain over 60 degrees. Once I get a thermometer and do some testing in these conditions, I will come back with some numbers. The construction of the heat tape is well done and the plug lights up so you know it is getting power. The connection points are well wrapped with heat shrink rubber. The end is also capped with a fuse so it can be replaced if ever overloaded (this is what my husband said and he professionally worked on cell towers). You can’t daisy chain them together as far as I know. Eventually, we plan to have solar running several heat tapes to different boxes and when we do, I may come back to update. For now, I feel this heat tape is worth the money.

I got this because it is suppose to be self regulating, turning on and off as needed by itself. The box shows the cord with the sensor attached. We opened it and got out the cord, and noticed that it doesn't appear to have the sensor attached, no is there one in the box. We plugged it in and it started heating up immediately. According to the instructions, it should only turn on once the temperature drops to 37 degrees, but it was 58 degrees when we plugged it in. Still, it does work, we just have to plug and unplug it as needed. 3 stars because it does work, but doesn't fulfill it's advertised description.
