I was looking for a way to clear snow off of my roof, I looked at different options and decided to give this a try. There are several of this style to choose from but I noticed this one has more bracing on the head unit so I think it's a little sturdier. The instructions to put it together are fairly vague but I figured it out. This works pretty good, it doesn't take all of the snow off it will leave about a inch or two layer but that's no big deal. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it needs to have one more section of pipe handle. Even if it was sold as an additional price. I couldn't reach the peak of my roof I left about 5 feet across the top, that won't collapse a roof but if I'm going to put in the work I want it all done. The other con is if it's windy the shute blows away from the handle and it doesn't work as it's designed. I would buy it again even with my 2 cons

If I could give a zero, I would. This is garbage. First use, the cheap aluminum bent in 4 spots. On second use, the rivey holding the bracket to blade popped. Save your money. This item is horrible.

I paid $110 for the dual head system and looking today, its only $66, so kind feeling like I've been ripped off. What makes it worse is that my return window has closed and I just put this together becuase we have a lot of snow from the last coupe of storms only to find out that the pole which has quick connect fittings and seems well made doesn't come with enough parts to quickly change from the peeler to the shovel. The bolts are small it requires tools and good luck finding that nut, screw or tools if you drop them in the snow. But it does comes with some spares. Yeah! This is by far the biggest complaint. How the heads attach to the pole. Its a very simple solution. Just in include the 3 missing parts and a couple more nuts and bolts.Just as a note. Not only are the heads not easily interchangable. The brace pieces have to be bent to make them fit the different heads. The angles come set for the snow shovel, but if you want to swap it to the peeler, you physicaly have to adjust them. Switching back and forth between the shovel and peeler will cause metal fatuge and it will break. And if you added the plug to the end of the peeler to prevent the snow going down the pole, you'll never be able to get it back out and then use it for the shovel. Beleive me i tied, The plug makes the end of the pole bigger and it no-longer fits inside the shovel attachment. You could modify it, but this feels like a product that was only half though out. However, this is a quality product, it has reemed over sized tubing, lightweight, the peeler works great and so does the shovel. The pole is quality, it breaks down easily, and has a good grip / handle on the end of the pole.If this was not a dual system and I bought these as seperate products, I would have given both 5-stars.

It finally snowed enough to try this out! Even so, I'd rather be skiing.Quality: Yes, the product is made in China. But what matters is that the manufacturer cares about their product. This one does. The poles are deburred. This matters because your hands typically slide over the joints during use as you pull the snow down. Bolts and nuts are stainless steel. A really tiny complaint is that some washers would be nice in a couple of places on the rake where nuts and bolts fit over an adjustment slot. I believe it is a good value given the quality of manufacture.Assembly: Instructions are a little sketchy as they try to make one set work for different versions. My “rake†version took about 10 minutes to assemble. They provide all tools necessary, though it goes easier if you use an 8mm socket wrench rather than the stamped open end wrench they supply.Use: I have a 30 year old medium hand-split shake roof. I was particularly worried about shake damage, as they get older they get fragile. What is most important is that the shape of the bottom of the rake slide up over the shakes on the push stroke. This might be a problem if you have heavy shakes that can be over an inch thick on the butt ends. The same slanted shape pulls the shovel into the roof on the down stroke. Raking the snow off can help to lower the risk of ice dams, but only if you do it early. If the snow melts and refreezes you might snag the ice and pull off shakes that the ice has frozen to. As long as you are aware of the potential and stop if you think you are pulling too hard. Each side of the roof is 16 feet long and the handle was long enough to reach the peak. It might be a problem for longer pitches. If so, just leave it. It’s the snow at the bottom that causes the most problems. The handle appears to be as long as it can practically be. Thicker tubing would make it weigh more and since you are at a mechanical disadvantage it would be difficult to lift. As an engineer, I don't think I could design it better.

This is super durable very functionable and easy to clean the roofline of the snow. Was surprised how long it went even with my high roof. Didn’t even have to use all the pieces to get to my roof. Easy to put away for storage too.

We used this roof rake with two feet of snow and it worked well. The snow did not slide as easily on the fabric as my friend’s roof rake which has a plastic slide, but this model has a much sturdier handle due to the metal pole design. The assembly was easy, but I suggest letting the handle warm up to disassemble.
