Ordered these for an 70lbs 8yr old who didn't want to ride outside but wanted an indoor bike. I installed for normal training wheels use, and then placed old adult shoes under each training wheel, which lifts just enough to lift the back wheel off the ground creating a very stable kid indoor trainer.I was concerned that the weight might be too much for the training wheels but they appear to be built to support even heavier than 70lbs. They are very sturdy and stable and able to use on a bigger wheel diameter than I'm using. My picture is on a 16in diameter wheel. There is two additional holes above for larger wheels and each hole is slightly elongated to allow a more custom height fit. The hardest part was the awkward sitting position required for an adult to install any training wheels and the bizarre paragraph after the actual instructions. I didn't tighten super tight the first time and slowly it became apparent I needed to move the metal stem back into alignment and actually tighten all the way. So even a "duh" mistake was no big deal to notice without catastrophe and easily corrected. Now he's zooming around the house and occasionally using the adult shoes trick for turning into an indoor stationary bike trainer. He's even begun to show interest in riding outside finally.We originally avoided training wheels because of safety and opted for balance bike but that just made him opt out of biking all together for years.

As a dad, I can't recommend these training wheels enough. Got my hands on a couple of extra bikes and needed something to help my 7-year-old and 5-year-old get started.Installation was a piece of cake, really, and I was able to get them onto the 17 and 20 inch bikes no problem. These things are as sturdy as they come. Took a few tumbles but they're holding up great.Now, the flashy feature has the kids over the moon! The wheels light up when they're pedaling around - which I wasn't expecting when I purchased. Gives them a kick and I reckon it helps with safety in low light too. And they're silent - no rattling or anything to distract them while they're getting the hang of it.These training wheels are worth their weight in gold. They've given the kiddos the confidence to ride and now, well, good luck getting them off their bikes. Great product all around!

Overall good quality but these didn’t work out for the bike we wanted to put them on. The bike would rock back and forth too much for comfort.

This worked for a few months of minimal use for our 3 year old, then suddenly last week while he was riding the wheel bearing completely snapped off. Unfortunately we are past the return window, but will be purchasing elsewhere to replace these.

Additional items you may need for 18-20†bike:Bolt extender, 24-26 tpiStabilizer brackets to prevent training wheels from moving out of place.Well, I eventually got them to work with my daughters bike so I gave them 3 stars for that. Her bike is brand new, 20inch. She’s on the taller side so needed a bigger bike but still needed training wheels. These had great reviews so I had high hopes! First issue I ran into was that they needed an extender bolt because the bolt wasn’t long enough to put the training wheel bracket on it. That was another $10. Great! I get the extenders and put them in place, tighten the life out of them and my daughter gets on for a ride! A few pedals in and she falls right off because the training wheels have moved. Luckily there was grass nearby she was able to jump into. I tighten and retighten and they still move as soon as any pressure is put on them. I have a neighbor tighten them using a power tool. Off for another ride! We make it about ten feet before she’s toppling over yet again. There is no level of tight that could keep these in place. NONE. So I ordered stability brackets, which I couldn’t find on their own so I ordered another set of training wheels that came with them. Only $12, but we’re up to more than double the original cost of the training wheels at this point. Had I know they’d need all of these extra parts I would’ve just ordered training wheels that came with the parts! If you have an 18-20†bike you may want to check with the manufacturer before purchasing and always get the stability brackets. They come with the tiny bracket but it doesn’t keep anything in place. If my daughter didn’t love the color and lights on these I would’ve just sent them back from the getgo!

This set of training wheels worked perfectly on my son's small bike. They would probably not work on a boat, dinosaur or airplane without some sort of modification.

These wheels are quieter than typical training wheels and provide a smooth ride. They are also very easy to put on the bike.

Fit in 5 yr olds bike easily and as expected. Adjustable to an extent. Daughter loves the light up action! Wheels are durable plastic similar to razor scooter type material. Good deal for what you get!BROKEN 1 year later: nut popped off right side mid ride, fortunately no major injury given the situation. Stripped, unable to repair/replace bolt or nut.

Tires are durable, quiet, and lights functioned well when spinning.Bought Sep 2021. In July 2024 the bearings on one wheel destroyed itself and the wheel came off the bike while riding. Luckily we're ready to take them off the bike anyway, but they won't be able to be donated/reused without being repaired with new bearings.

These training wheels are incredibly easy to install and fit a wide range of frame and wheel sizes. The construction is sturdy and the wheels are quiet on the concrete and pavement because they’re a hard rubber compound, like a big roller blade wheel.
