The brace holding each part of the battery together almost caused a fitment issue, but a bit of persuasion helped it all barely fit together.Quality seemed okay for now, we will know for sure with time and use.

You must know what you are doing to replace this battery. It is a very delicate operation that can cause a fire or explosion if done carelessly. Removal of the old battery requires some high potency alcohol or other "safe" solvent to break the adhesive securing the OEM battery as well as a solid spudger and/or scraping tool (must be plastic!!). All other tools are included.Also, there is an extremely delicate ribbon cable that connects the battery's "daughter board" to the motherboard. This cable is super fragile and easily torn.Aside from being very careful, and if you take your time, it should only take about 20 minutes to a half-hour to complete the replacement.If you don't see a battery meter after installing the battery, the ribbon cable on the daughterboard may not be secured properly or has been damaged.

The battery kit comes with the two screwdrivers you need and a spatula tool to pry up the cover and batteries. It would have been nice to have the spudger tool or something similar to work on the ribbon cables, but the replacement can be done without it.Unfortunately this kit did not come with any instructions, however there are plenty of good YouTube videos available that show the process step by step, and it is not too difficult as long as you take your time. Do note that you need to be careful removing the old spicy pillows, or you are not gonna have a good time.No issues with battery fitment and currently no problems on the laptop with the new battery.Overall this is a decent kit at a good price to keep your old MacBook A1708 running.

I got this battery for an aging MacBook Pro model A1708 with an aging battery. My battery had gotten to nearly 70% of its life but was sometimes just shutting down and not charging at times. This battery came with everything you need to install. Installation went well and the battery was soon recognized with a 53% charge. It’s also charging and shows as a brand new battery. My only gripe is the max capacity is on 93% of what it should be at only 4900mAh. The design capacity for the A1708 battery is supposed to be 5250mAh. That alone takes a star off. Other than that, it’s a nice product.edit: After only one recommended calibration cycle, my battery health has dropped to 85.5%. At this rate the battery won't last a month. Hopefully the battery is just stabilizing. Stay tuned...

It has only been a week since I installed the new battery but so far it is working fine and holding a charge. My computer powered up easily after I installed it and it appeared to be an exact match to my factory OEM battery. This was one of the cheaper batteries for sale so I wondered if it would be sub-par materials or workmanship. So far so good but only time will tell.
