Our daughter's screen went kaput on her old MacBook Pro A1706 (got it in 2018), so I got this screen this week to replace it. As of 7-29-23 (a day after I replaced) it works just fine. My daughter says she doesn't notice any difference in brightness, but then again it's been at least a year and a half since she has used it (it was college final paper/final exam time and she needed a quick replacement so we got her a new McB P). So I'm happy with it and will update this review if it underperforms.TIPS:There's an outstanding YouTube video by UberGeeks that walks you step by step on the screen replacement for the A1706. I took my time and replaced the screen in under 2 hours. One thing - this screen comes with every torx and pentalobe bit you will need to get the job done-what a pleasant surprise. I had ordered an IFIXIT kit but the screen came before the kit arrived so I went ahead and replaced it with the tools that were provided. Another thing - people tend to complain about stripping screws with the tools they use and they blame the tools. If the screen has not been replaced before keep in mind that Apple over-torques some of its screws. If the screw doesn't budge with reasonable force, don't just keep turning the screwdriver. For several screws I had to press really - REALLY - hard down on the top of the screw driver with one hand while turning the screw driver very slowly with the other until the screw broke free. If you have ever used an impact screwdriver you will get the idea. I probably should have had a pair of plyers to make turning the screw driver easier but I was able to break all the screws free without it and without stripping them. One screw had me worried because it wouldn't budge and the screw bit spun a few times wearing it a little. But again, pressing really really hard down on the screwdriver and turning it incrementally was what broke it free for me.

I was hesitant at first but decided to give it a try and I was very pleased with the whole process. The screen replacement is good quality and saved me a lot of money from going in to have it fixed by someone else or just buying a whole new laptop. The only thing I noticed that is different from the original screen is the Apple logo, on this product it’s more of like a black reflective plastic while on the original screen it’s a mirror. To be honest that little part is not even noticeable so it really doesn’t matter. I fixed my screen about a month ago and have no problems. VERY pleased with this product and would recommend anyone to purchase this replacement to fix their screens. JUST BE SURE TO FOLLOW A YOUTUBE VIDEO IF YOU ARE DOING IT YOUR SELF (follow instructions it comes with too)

I have been replacing screens for along time, over 25 years. I have replaced countless MacBook screens as I own a computer repair company. This screen, being less than 6 months old, not only has bright pixels missing all over, and dead pixels, but the glass on the front doesn't even feel like a normal screen. It almost feels like there is no top glass, and only the LCD Digitizer is present. I replaced a screen in my clients computer in April of 2024, and within 5 months it has deteriorated to the point that if it had been like this when I got it, I would've returned it immediately. The missing pixels multiply daily, and as the pictures show, they are in the middle of the screen, and at the bottom of the screen. This screen is the WORST quality screen I have ever seen. I do not recommend this company to anyone. If they can make one screen this bad, who knows how many others are this poorly made. And they say a 3 month warranty, but on their site it is a 180 day warranty. Most consumer electronics come with a standard 1 year warranty. In the EU, the warranty is 3 years. I can clearly see why this company only says they offer a 3 month warranty.....that is how long they know it will last; no more, no less. Buy any other brand for the same price if not cheaper. Stay away from this screen!

Arrived well packed, and all parts in good shape. Looks stock; lower bezel was included to so no extra parts needed. The included instruction weren't bad; I already knew what to do and there are plenty of YouTube videos with directions, so not a big deal. Once assembled I found it to be slightly less bright than the stock one, but not in a significant manner. Only Gripe is it would have been nice if it included screws, as these tiny screws are easily lost, and maybe a bit size map so you know what bit goes to what screw as you work.

The screen arrived quickly. I can’t tell a difference between this screen and the OEM screen. The price is low. Easy to install. Couldn’t have asked for a better product for the price.

So I ordered the screen and three days later it’s at my door. Screen was very well packaged. I installed it and the backlight wasn’t working. So i took the laptop apart and hit up customer service. They were super helpful and sent me another. 3 days later another screen arrived at my door. Put the Mac back together and voila, it’s now working. It was a small inconvenience the first one didn’t work, but the customer service, the price, and the speed in which it was delivered totally made up for it. Will update on its durability in the future.

I was scared to buy it in the first place because I never repaired an electronic device like this before. Watched several YouTube videos to understand how to fix it and within 45 minutes I installed this new screen and even cleaned my laptop which was never cleaned before. Also, the camera and screen are pretty close to the original product based on quality. Definitely recommend buying this for a cheaper alternative and about an hour of work to get your Macbook back up and working, instead of going to the Apple store and spending $400-$500plus for the same work.
