Terrible. Warped. Frog moves and numerous hairs come out every time it gets removed from the case. Have had this for two months but rarely used as my daughter is just learning and not yet using it much. I knew it was inexpensive and I was not going to get top quality but this should not have even been offered for sale in this condition.

I don’t see how this bow can get any negative reviews. It’s LESS THAN $20. It works. It’s made of real wood. It makes a good sound on our violin and sounds comparable to our >$50 bow. Make sure to rosin it well upon receiving it!PS the bow did have a slight smell from wood varnish when it first arrived. We aired it out overnight and now the smell is gone.

Honestly a great buy for anyone to replace a bow at aBargain. For a beginner it's something to keep going with while the other is possibly in the shop getting repaired. And for professionals, it's something to have on the street with no worry of it getting broke or stolen. Although it does smell cheap out of the bag but, that's the rubber thumb rest. Give it a week and the smell should go away. Also just give it a good rosin and start playing. As for the price point. Why not. Saves you money and frankly this bow is well put together.

The bow itself is half way decent, ... the horse hair on the other hand is brittle and breaks quite easily. This bow was purchased for our 6 year old grandson, and though he is hard on a bow, as he is still learning proper technique, the hair on this bow let us down. Within 3 weeks, he was asking me to re-hair the bow. I've done it in the past, ... many times, ... just makes me wonder if my time is worth what the expense of the bow is worth.I'm going to re-hair the bow with 2 pound mono-filament fishing line, ... give it a sanding so it can attract the rosin, ... and then consider a bit more expensive bow that might just last longer than a month.

The only possible way this may be usable is if I learn to rehair it or get it rehaired.It arrived with broken hairs, and after rosining for an hour, it still barely makes a sound except with a lot of pressure. My old bow needs barely a touch on the strings to sing.I very much suspect that the hair is nylon, not horsehair. I took one of the broken strings and put it in a flame. Not a whiff of burning hair.I see that someone suggested sand paper. I may give that a go.
