I used this to rebuild a 100 amp, Ford 1G alternator. The orignal brushes were worn, and the holder was deteriorated. This is a simple and inexpensive fix. Just unsolder the old one, solder this one, and you're good to go. It does come with the brushes pre-installed, along with the little wire retainer so that you can easily install the rotor. It fit just like the OEM piece, and functioned perfectly.
